Solid start to the season. Helped Dylan Jacobs dip under 4 too with a 3:47.

3:57.67 for Dylan Jacobs. He had never broken 4 minutes before - heck, TFRRS said his PR was 4:12. Good start and glad Nguse got a rustbuster as he prepares for that 3000 at Millrose. Go Irish.
Wow!
Lock to win the DMR.

1500?
I was thinking it was a Mile because Nguse ran a 3:34 1500 by himself lasst year, but then if this runner Dylan Jacobs ran 3:47 it has to be a 1500 or if it is a Mile he is T. Cheruiyot And J. Ingebritsen type ability, meaning serious Medal Contender and sub 3:30 for 1500 later in the year like Monaco.
So Nguste didn’t go pro?

Notre dame got Dylan jacobs (3:57/sub 13:30 5k) Samuel Voelz(us 800m finalist) and Yared Nuguse(Olympian).
Ole miss has more depth but they don’t quite have the talent to match Notre dame:

Don’t count on nguse showing up to the NCAA’s. Something else more important might come up- like a sale on produce at the grocery store or something.

I’m gonna assume that 3:47 was in trainers — ND runners have a history of running fantastic times in trainers.

Lol. Give me anyone from Ole Miss against Nuguse within a couple seconds and I’ll take Nuguse 11 times out of 10.

Garcia Romo: 3:35.7 - Nuguse: 3:34.6
Young 3:57.8/Cruz (2:20/3:59)/Smulders (1:48/3:58) - Jacobs (2:24/3:57.6)
Rivera: 1:47.4 - Voelz: 1:46.8
It will be a good battle

Voelz has run 1:45.5 (at the trials)
And the 12 leg could also be Bashir Mosavel-lo over Jacobs (1:48 / 3:59)

Yeah the PRs are the same. But it’s about the miler if it’s close in every DMR. If Nuguse and Garcia are close it’s not in doubt.
ISU will win the dmr.

Naguse not really an Olympian, he did not compete in Tokyo.

He qualified beating a former US champion in Craig Engles. Only people in America qualified to say he isn't an Olympian are Hocker and centro
