What are some good workouts for 10-mile races? I've found some for 10ks and half marathon but the 10-miler is kinda in a funky in-between spot. I'm thinking:
- 2 miles easy + mile repeats at 5k pace with 400 jogs between + 1 mile cooldown
- 2 mile buildup to 10k pace, hold 10k pace for 2 miles + 1 mile cooldown
- 1 mile easy + 5 mile race pace + 1 mile cooldown
I'd do 2 each week along with a long run (10-14 miles), and two shorter easy runs (6 miles).
What else am I missing? This is on a fairly flat course BTW so I don't want to bother with hill work.
