If it doesn’t hurt while doing it, it’s unlikely to worsen the injury, though biking is almost certainly going to trigger rectus femoris pain if already strained. Experiment with low intensity biking, rowing, walking, aqua jogging etc. to see which of those aggravate the pain the least if the intent is to cross-train. For healing, rest plus normal daily activity is probably quickest or about as quick as anything else for mild muscle strains.
Cycling focuses on the monoarticulate vastus muscles and doesn't put R. femoris through much range of motion.
Find any mechanical or form issues that may have caused the strain so it doesn't happen again.
