That's a super fast time for the 19-year old. He didn't even run a 60 or 100 as a freshman at Texas Tech last year but did run 20.36 for 200. His 100 pb is 10.39.
The meet is at Lubbock which is a slight altitude (3,202 ft (976 meters)). Christaine Coleman and Leonard Myles-Mills also have run 6.45 in the past at the NCAA level.
In the women's tj, Ruth Usoro of Texas Tech became the first collegian to break 48 feet in the women's TJ indoors or out as she jumped 14.76m (48-5¼) to destroy the previous collegiate record of 14.53m (47-8) set by Keturah Orji four years ago (Orji’s collegiate outdoor record is14.62m (47-11¾).
