Golly gosh almighty! Will McSweyn get suspended like Richardson did?
What a weird-ass thing that was.
Is McSweyn the fastest shuffler ever?
I love the Aussies.
I hate their snikes.
Yea this is a handicap race with big money being bet on who will win. Australian commentators are pretty dam good.
See you in Bathurst....good luck
Super fun.
Thanks for posting! Super fun to watch
If you haven't already, watch the Euro XC races with Cathal Dennehy and Hannah England commentating. They know all the runners and their stories. Best commentary I've heard in years
Illegal start commands, doesn't count. You could tell McSweyn was caught off guard to hear "set" instead of the gun.
I bet that's the same announcer for the horse races at this track.
Great commentator! Sounded just like the commentary in a horse race lol
Are you from New Zealand?
Looks like a fun race. How do they determine where you start?
It's amazing that McSweyn went sub-four on grass! Most people on grass just want to eat Cheetos and lay on the couch! Incredible.

I agree, this info would be helpful. Look at the start, an old man is staggered barely ahead of the sub4 guy! Maybe he only run 2.8 laps? Hard to keep track of placements watching this.
Too bad the bar has been set so low here in the U.S. that this call should garner this much attention.
If his mom was coaching him he'd be sub 3:50 on the grass easy

Flaggie, an athletics carnival/highland games with handicap racing is quite common down under........certainly was in the past. Believe this was in Tasmania (I may be wrong). Note the full utilization of that stadium - 1. Sports field for soccer or rugby + athletics infield. 2. 400 meter track. 3. Cycling velodrome.
Although the commentator gets high marks, what about the handicapper? The runners didn't handicap themself.
To those who are amazed by a sub-4 on grass. Go down to your local PGA tournament golf course and run on a fairway....just as good as a tartan track. So good, and firm, and fast that cheater shoes even work.

Well, I do not live down under and haven't even visited, so, to me, that's a weird-ass thing.
