Some fast times were ran at BYU season opener. What are people predicting for the rest of the season? Who's going to win the title distance and what times?

Shouldn't the top runners be running this weekend? Anyone know the schedule? Yeah I'd like to hear more about it , I don't know about records but should be some Fast Times and good competition

This lists most of the weeks this weekend, although I know Michigan is also hosting a meet. Early season following post XC (and BU) break. AR meet on SECN +, WA meet on Runnerspace, Michingan meet on Big10+ I believe. So more likely nothing terribly fast this weekend.

Start lists are emerging and in most of the meets it seems most of the top runners will not be running this week at least in the meets I have looked at.

I think we were spoiled by last year. A lot of big names ran fast, early, likely because they hadn't had to opportunity to properly compete for a whole year.
I have the not-so-bold prediction that indoors will be nowhere near as fast as it was last year.

I'm not so sure I agree on this. I think training is more organized this year and just as we saw a much deeper field in XC I think there will be more fast 3,000s, 5,000s and DMRs by NCAA champ time. Probably some fast miles ahead of the meet but not so much in the meet due to conflict with DMR. But, probably not the fast times early as you point out.
The one race I have seen for this weekend is the 3,000 at the UW meet with several Stanford runners and UW runners on the start list
You lose because the 5k is already faster.
Iowa and Wisconsin are hosting meets this weekend.
Wayment looks tough to beat at the 5K and McCabe same at 3 k , who's the favorite at the mile? I'd be interested in hearing everyone's prediction for top three at each of those different distances
Tuohy might have have a shot at the miLe ... Along With Sam Bush and Taylor roe

The mile is tough to call as a lot of the better runners will likely be running the DMR for their team. The 5,000 and DMR are also another conflict. BYU lost Hoj off DMTR team , and if they want a chance this year will need to keep Wayment on the anchor. McCabe mentioned DMR at BU. Fl State returns a good team. Arkansas likely will want to scorer well in DMR. Stanford could come up with a good team which could pull Heymach away as well if they want their best. Oklahoma St and NC State have good teams if they run their best. So 3,000 could end up loaded with Wayment, McCabe, Roe, Tuohy, Bush, Gregory all of whom could go 8:55 or better plus Chelangat and Kimelli if they go for a double. The 5,000 favorite would have to be Chelangat if Wayment does not run with Kimelli, Hasz, Magness, Chmiel, Denner in the mix, especially if a fast pace. For 1 mile it could be wide open with maybe Gear or Thomson of Arkansas (one of their 3 will not run DMR). DiGenero of Colorado, Heymach if kept off DMR, Hertenstein of Indiana. Kimelli could choose the mile for all we know. On a given day Schadler (mile or 3,000) or Herberg (5,000) of Washington can come up with very good races.
Lauren Ryan could also possibly factor. She just ran 4:38 alone closing in 32 today and has a 15:22 5k pr as well as 4:34 mile.

Yea I'm sure I left people off the list. Ryan might join the DMR 3000 group.
Tuohy Is winning a national championship. Put her in the mile, put her in the 3K , she is winning a national championship. Maybe not this season , maybe not this year, but mark my words it will happen. I would bet anything . . You have 24 hours to reply
I'll do u 1 better! Tuohy will win multipLe titles... heck bring back the 1k, she'll win that... and I'll give em 48hrs to reply... clock starts now mofos
Mia Barnett will also be a factor in the mile. Freshmen UVA set many records in high school last year.
Easiest bet I have ever taken! She cannot cliose. She never could.

I lied…… this is the easiest bet ever! Multiple?!?! Now that is funny.

I would have said that too, until her terrible and very disappointing first year of CC at UVA
Yes. Anybody would be crazy to take her over the field of dozens of equivalent runners. She is no Mu. She is no Chez. She isn't even a Schweizer. She may win one but I can say that about a bunch of runners. She may win multiple titles, but that is highly unlikely.
