Ok guys I have been using Strava for all my runs and for some reason I keep getting blocked by people I have known like former XC teammates and then all of sudden some of them unblocked me for a few days and then blocked me again like I don't understand whats the logic or reasoning here?
The only person I’ve ever blocked on Strava spam posted alt right mean screen shots from Pinterest. Are you doing anything spam like in your posts/ over sharing?

How do you know you're blocked? It doesn't alert you.
Do you mean you can see their profiles, and then you can't?
If you're not friends, that would mean they're making their profile private.

Same I made my Strava private which I guess is the same a blocking everyone. I don't need to share with people what I do or even better yet myself schedule when my home will be empty

Me three. I’ll set something public if I do a race or go for a CR or something, but everything defaults to private. It was weird getting kudos or having to think about kudos or lack thereof for slow dog jogs.
When I was on there, people would ask you to add them, which is fine, but then you start getting all kinds of notifications, which takes time and is annoying to deal with. You can then turn off notifications to avoid that. But you still have to wade through all the added content they involve on your stream. And to be polite, you need to like their posts even if they are posting every random run per day and not just consolidating the day's runs into one. One guy was particularly annoying with all the x earned a badge and x signed up for a virtual run, and on and on. So, it gets annoying quickly and it makes sense to start blocking a bunch of the people you agreed to follow.

Same here. After my friend list grew to ~70 people it just because too much of a kudos war, and the cycling groups I ride with are huge.

LetsRun is just adding upvote/downvote totals, and there will be no functionality associated with them. Likely they will be hijacked by the regular spammers since I assume that will be easy to do without the requirement to register a username. The vote totals will be wacky, but luckily they won't affect sorting.

Me 4... This is my exact strategy too. Can't be bothered much with the social aspect of Strava.
Idk I just see there name and nothing right next to it. Idk it makes me feel like a criminal because 10 people I have known have blocked me and I feel so horrible.

I don't understand why people feel the need to have to give kudos or worry about how many people give you kudos. I kinda feel good if I get a kudos, but really don't care about them, especially because most of my workouts are not kudos worthy. I randomly give kudos to content as I scroll down that looks impressive/interesting, but otherwise do not feel compelled to give kudos to any particular person. I would not care at all if I kudosed someone daily and never got one back.

but that is you. there are definitely people who give them because they want the trade back to build big numbers. it's exactly how facebook operates. it's toxic. i follow my athletes and ex athletes. that's it. otherwise i wouldn't even be on there.

there are people who really get into it and it ruins the experience. though truthfully, I don't think this place has enough of a community aspect for it to matter.
I am on another sport's forum where the members are much more regular and everybody registers. the upvote downvote thing basically turned into an exact replica of how facebook operates. pandering, kissing a$$, posting for social credit, etc.
i really don't think that kind of thing can happen here. or at least we are a long way off from being that kind of group right now.
I need to get on board with not caring about kudos / comments and follower numbers. I have used strava since 2013 and have deleted almost all other social platforms in the last year. It is insane that I care about someone I never met, but am connected with thinks about my run or ride.
I do have all activity set default to private, but do make almost all of them public. The bs walk around the block stays private, but most everything else gets shard.
Not sure about the blocking / unblocking. I don't think they know you blocked them, and I don't think you can tell you are blocked.

I never went on anyone else's profiles and randomly gave them kudos, they follow me and give me kudos and after a while they block me, so its not me you 🤡.

This is intriguing. How fast do you think the letsrun community can break the new system with bad behavior? I bet we could do it in a matter of hours!
