Definitely the best 3 women we have.
Nice to see a solid WC team for a change!
Not sure if there’s an alternate but if there is I sure hope that they picked Keira D’Amato.

I think it is a bit odd that the soon to be 39 year old Hall is part of “the best 3 women we have.” It shows either that she is crazy talented/doping or that we are quite weak in the women’s marathon or both.

Sara is not the first 38-year-old to be good at the marathon and she won't be the last.
BTW, D'Amato is only 1 year younger.
Great day for Beaverton! Long live the Swoosh!

No trials??? That's wrong and ridiculous.
Behavioral PED Test wrote:
Emma Bates - Choice is okay, I don't have any current red flags on her
Sara Hall - Seriously? Her testosterone and HGH laden husband that we publicly know full well takes boat loads of PEDs for bodybuilding makes Sara Hall a big red NO. Sara Hall could be micro-dosing just by smelling the breath of Ryan Hall. And what good is WADA's no needle policy when Sara Hall is surrounded by PEDs in her own home? She has no credibility because of her drug addicted husband.
Molly Seidel - Big red flag on this one. She was desperate for money and apply for jobs at Starbucks/McDonald's because she had no fitness and many injuries. Then all of a sudden overnight, was able to blow virtually every women away and blow away all her past PRs. There was a desperate financial motive and extremely suspicious performance change from her in a very short time of just a few months.
Solid post.

They don’t usually have trials do they?

Umm, there's never been a Trials to make the World Team. The selection process was fair and based on placing at the World Marathon Majors. As another confirmation of the fairness, Seidel, Hall, and Bates are currently US ranked 1-2-3 in the World Ranking system (Keira D'Amato is 4th).

Sample schedule for the USA's top marathoners, with trials:
Winter 2022- Worlds Trials Marathon
Summer 2022- World Champs Marathon
Winter 2023- Worlds Trials Marathon
Summer 2023- World Champs Marathon
Winter 2024- Olympic Trials Marathon
Summer 2024- Olympic Marathon
Winter 2025- Worlds Trials Marathon
Summer 2025- World Champs Marathon
Guess they never get to do any other marathons, ever.
Molly will be the only one in the top 5.
the system is not a bad one, but you can not exactly say it is fair when they announced it so late that most of the races used as part of that system were already over and done with...
Why wouldn't they wait for Spring Marathons, say end of April or at least March? If D'amato really runs a great time in Houston wouldn't it be stupid to not have waited at least for this result?
