This thread was deleted by a volunteer moderator. I certainly don't want a thread this big deleted so I've restored. THat being said, this thread has served it's purpose. I've closed it to new posts.
We have a new 2024 vaccine thread here. New people don't need to try to wade through 20,000 posts to figure out what is going on.
Hence why I said “oldie but goodie.” Natural immunity is not a new concept or a bad one, if much maligned by people w BSs in biochemistry like yourself. So, the point to extrapolate here is if you had Delta, particularly, and were unvaccinated, you’re good. Why does that upset you so?🤬🤬🤬
Look at this mentally ill Harambe/2600 bro guy posting under both handles, within 2-4 minutes? He has been doing it for years, sometimes forgetting to switch handles. He is mentally ill. There was a time when "they" were both gone for 2 weeks, and then "both" came back and posted within 2 minutes of "each other".
Harambe/2600 bro, man, seek help. Forget this COVID obsession of yours. Seriously, seek help.
Antivaxxers two biggest arguments now:
1) Data is meaningless unless I know the CV of the person posting the data (on a running message board)
2) Multiple people disagreeing with me is impossible

You should start an official vitamin D thread. This has no place here. Remember, Harambe already said vitamin D has no utility in prevention or treatment of Covid so, case closed I guess?
Also, Harambe stated pro-vaccination but anti-mRNA vaxxers are raging on the FDA’s new advice for semiannual boosters. But, literally nobody raged😂. If anything, they are laughing, because it’s comical.

I watched the video of Colbert leading the performance into the audience. The close ups of the Covid vaccine syringe dancers shows that is Amy Cole, without a doubt.
"Mark Hyman MD almost slips up and says Covid vaccines are causing cancer. Then he tries to cover and say Covid. He and I have had a few debates on my old Insta and Facebook pages with millions watching."
"Open for business". Give the man credit for being truthful about FDA standard operating procedure.

My understanding is that it has been well established that a chronic vitamin D deficiency, which is common in the US population, hurts immune system response broadly. I believe this is consistent with what both Harambe and Fisky have said. Fisky linked a VA study showing correlation between serum vitamin D and specific case of COVID outcomes which looks credible, so vitamin D in the context of COVID is relevant.
Harambe has also pointed to a study that vitamin D has no discernible effect in acute COVID treatment. This isn't surprising because a chronic deficiency cannot be resolved in the few days of acute treatment, that is, it's too late by that time to get immediate benefit.
As I've said before, it's more than reasonable that mitigating chronic conditions like obesity, fitness, nutritional deficiencies and such improves general health outcomes including COVID. I don't see that as anything new or particularly controversial, but, despite years of messaging, there's been limited impact on the general population. I'm skeptical that stepping up this messaging as part of the COVID response would have moved the needle on that front.
What I haven't seen is much of a coherent quantifiable argument against COVID vaccination more or less as it has been recommended and acknowledging comorbidities doesn't change that.
This website shows the outcomes of multiple studies on multiple treatments and preventives for COVID.
Scroll down to see the results for vitamin D or click the second link for vitamin D only. From a risk/benefit analysis, it's a no-brainer to take vitamin D. Keeping D levels high correlates to a Statistically significant lower risk for mortality, ICU, hospitalization, progression, recovery, cases, and viral clearance.

We’ve all said this from day one about vit D (Harambe was not on board on day one and I doubt you were either). But what is deficiency? That’s the litmus test. The NIH is defining anything below 12 ng/mL as deficiency and anything above 20 ng/ML as normal. In reality, most credible health authorities define normal as 40-60 ng/ML.
I supplement at 5000 IU per day and my own provider, who was a certified county board commissioner for Covid and who was extremely pro-vaccine, recently told me that my vit D level at 49 ng/mL was too low and that I ought to double up my supplementation like two days per week.
Yes, it’s hard to move vitamin D rapidly (though possible with other medical intervention) but, it was the easiest, most effective thing anyone could do before vaccines were widely available, get vitamin D levels way up, over 50. That messaging was sorely lacking.

Vitamin D supplementation is common in the United States, with about one-fifth of the adult population taking a daily supplement in one form or another. Although the detrimental effects of insufficient sun exposure in childho...
“In an extensive examination of the immunologic effects of vitamin D supplements, the authors described the immunomodulatory hormonal effects of vitamin D, noted significant biologic effects on the innate and adaptive immune systems, cited the immunomodulatory and antiviral effects of the active form of vitamin D (1,25 dihydroxyvitamin D), and suggested that vitamin D supplementation might reduce the risk and severity of COVID-19 infection. They concluded that although the optimal level of vitamin D remains unclear, maintaining a serum 25(OH)D level of 100 to 150 nmol/L (40 to 60 ng/mL) is recommended.”
“An otherwise healthy 30-year-old woman with a BMI of 37 kg/m2 was referred for vitamin D deficiency “unresponsive to D repletion.” Her initial 25(OH)D level was 14 ng/mL. After taking vitamin D2 at a dose of 50,000 IU once weekly with her morning coffee for 4 weeks, her 25(OH)D level remained at 21 ng/mL, still below the normal range.”
“Recommended treatment for this patient
This 30-year-old female patient, deemed unresponsive to vitamin D repletion, was treated with vitamin D3 50,000 IU weekly for 8 weeks taken with dinner. Her 25(OH)D level rose to 42.8 ng/mL.”
— Literally eight weeks. So, what three months to over 50 ng/mL. You know how many patients this would’ve saved and helped? This isn’t exercise and diet, though losing weight would’ve helped tremendously. This is simple supplementation, again, before the vaccine was available. That messaging was nowhere.
Harambe’s response? “Bollocks. You antivaxxers will fall for any grift and consume any amount of adulterated supplements because you are low IQ.”
But, you see, taking simple supplements like vit C, vit D, and a nasal viral load attenuator like Xlear or Fisky’s Poviodine actually worked in this disease. But, this doesn’t fund grants or justify scientist’s existences, or make massive revenue for a Pfizer, which then disseminates funding to various health and regulatory bodies. A very sad state of affairs.
