Her training has been outstanding. She's certainly in sub-2:20 shape. Her latest long run

Very deserving. Wouldn't that be spectacular. Her story is inspiring. Gives us mortals some hope.

Not to nitpick or diminish her success, but she was 4:55/10:30 back 20 years ago and finished 6th and NCAA XC, notably beating Amy Hastings, Molly Huddle, and Shannon Rowbury.
She proves to mortals that you can have a second or third act in your running life, but having that kind of high ceiling established early on plays a big part.
A good example of the idea that talent doesn't go away.
She also has a great attitude that helps her take the downs in her stride, not that there's been too many over the last couple of years.
I hope she gets the AR, there needs to be more women pushing under 2:20 in the super shoe era

Is this the AR for the longest chin ?
Please post a link to your IG, Brad Pitt. It’d be interesting to see what type of person makes a comment like this. Typically,, the people that make comments on another person’s appearance are 1) unattractive 2) self conscious about being unattractive 3) rotten on the inside
2 the gills!!!
Remember, she underwent surgery to remove a tarsal coalition between her left calcaneus and navicular bones before she could return to competitive running after her post collegiate years. Not to mention 2 child births. Truly an amazing athlete.
Thanks for posting this. It has me thinking about my own training. I always do my longest training run of about 24 miles four weeks before the marathon and my last 20+ (usually around 21 or 22) three weeks out. After that, my taper officially begins and my longest run two weeks out is only about 18 miles.
Her marathon PR is 2:22:56 (5:27 pace) and she did a 24-miler in 2:21:01 (5:52 pace) only two weeks out from Houston. This is about 92% of her marathon PR pace.
Now, I'm a 47-yo guy who only runs about 85-95 during marathon training with a recent best of 2:59, not a 37-yo world class runner who probably trains more like 120 miles per week. However, I always feared doing too much the final three weeks and I certainly do not do my last long run at 92% of PR pace. I'm wondering if I should do my last long run two weeks out (maybe 21, NOT 24), and just cut a few miles from the day before to keep the weekly mileage the same. Basically, just put more emphasis on the long run two weeks out. I sometimes wonder if I taper a little too much. I feel like I might lose a little fitness during my taper. For Boston this year my Sundays were:

I handled 11 straight weeks of 20+ runs so having two weeks between a 21-miler and a marathon should not be an issue.
Yeah, that is an awesome workout to see! I hope she crushes the AR!
