do it for 2 years exclussively. or even 4 months exclussively. and tell me how your ankles make out when you go onto real life surfaces. you will 100 percent set yourself up for injury .

I like the tread. It has its place. Very convenient.

The best thing is that you don’t have to worry about pace. Or anything, really. Just zone out.

Oh noes! My poor wittle ankles will SNAP after running 40mpw on the belt, and 20mpw on the track / roads for 4 months.

Actually you'd probably gain more robustness from the increased speed more than you'd lose it from avoiding harder surfaces, as long as you still do some workouts outside at higher speeds.

You get knee problems on all surfaces if running form is bad.

Most often knee problems come from overstriding.

Look that the shank angle at touchdown is about 90 degrees to the surface. Or even better in the book 'Running Form' by Anderson he says that the optimal shank angle at touchdown is around 6 degrees, which means the angle to the vertical line (vertical line is 90 degrees perpendicular to the surface).
