It’s insane how many people I know have tested positive in the last week. This new strain doesn’t seem to care if u r vaxxed or not. It’s nuts

If vaccinated you have about a 99.99+% chance of not dying of Covid. In NYC by law everyone who works needs to be vaccinated.

I know many people who tested positive in the last week, none of them sick. One lost her sense of taste and smell for 5 days, the others the sniffles. They were all vaccinated.

It's also destroying my kid's education- his teachers have to be quarantined and classrooms are being shut down.

Why are Manhattan’s COVID rates so low compared with the rest of NYC?

Manhattan has a much lower COVID-19 infection rate than the four other boroughs. It also has many fewer hospitalizations and deaths. Yet the “experts” are astonishingly incurious as to why.

They tend to mention it only in passing, if at all. Why such scant attention to so tantalizing a phenomenon?

Manhattan doesn’t lie hundreds of miles offshore. It’s linked to the rest of the city by a half-dozen bridges, three tunnels and myriad train lines. Surely we ought to care why one borough is safer than the others, even as millions of people pass from one to another every day.

Great.

So Manhattan, essentially a completely vaccinated city, will continue to shut down so as long as all other states in the region and/or country aren’t also completely vaccinated. Even though NYC put a vaccine passport systems often into most all business as well as a vaccine mandate to even work in the city

In short, NYC is going to continue to shutdown a few times a year for the foreseeable future .

You should see the new Assembly bills that are scheduled for the NY legislative session on Jan. 5 - Covid vaccine mandates for children, denying insurance to unvaccinated, mandatory flu shots for kids of all ages, even under 5 years old to attend daycare, etc.

There is a reason NY and California still have some of the highest unemployment rates in the country and places like Idaho and Utah can’t fill jobs because of labor shortages. Don’t worry, though, I’m sure the dems in control will usher in another blue state bail out so they can shut down all of their businesses for something less virulent than the flu. Omicron will still spread through their communities regardless of the shutdowns.

Get a booster.

Shutting down again and again is NOT the answer. Canceling things again and again is not the answer. Kids are missing school, opportunities, and people are just missing a chance to live normally.
