Will there be any NFL games this weekend? 4% of players have tested positive in 2 days. What does this mean for all other sports

Theyll probably just play the games one way or another. Practice squad players can suit up. This proves the vaccines are a joke since 97% of the league is vaccinated. Now the reason the NFL wanted to incentivize most players to get vaccinated is because it is quality PR material. Public relations are vital to the nfl. They didn't want to risk people tuning out due to politics.

The games being played are also an imperative component. They don't really care about covid on a deeper level as they know it's not a real threat, none of the players have died or will die despite obesity being an inevitable issue. The league is a businesss first and foremost.

Remember when the COVID crazies were saying things like “just wait until the vaccine is available and then we will be able to get back to normal” . Well, it’s been a year since the first Covid vaccine was administered and some are now actually reinstating restrictions.

Assuming omicron is as harmless as it seems so far, best thing would be to let this rip, creating her immunity quickly.

Variants come from other parts of the world where people are unvaccinated. Millions of unvaccinated people come to the US every year.

I didn’t think the vaccine would stop anyone from getting Covid, just reduce negative symptoms. It appears the institutions or states shutting/locking down did think the vaccine would make Covid go away however.

If the “experts’” plan going into this was to get 100% of the population to take the vaccine they were honestly delusional.

Those coming from the southern border are not required to be vaxxed. But I know people who have not been vaxxed because they had covid this year. I personally have not had a booster because the 2nd moderna shot made me sick for 4 days. I'm in the middle of my busiest season and can't afford to be sick. I'm not anti vax. But I can understand why guys like Aaron Rodgers don't want the vax. If games have to be cancelled, so be it. We are never getting rid of covid anyway. Until people realize this, large outdoor races like Bolder Boulder will continue to be cancelled and we will all be wearing diapers on our face until all the restaurants and bars go out of business.

The real issue is that its infectious as hell. The more who get it, the quicker we'll weed out the non vaccers, and get society back in line.

Yep, the whole sport/testing/ etc is completely flawed. The vaccines real utility is just reducing the impact of the virus and keeping people out of hospital. If you don't take the masking and distancing seriously its just window dressing.

This will be with us for a long time. Thankfully they are developing other solutions.

-I presume you're griping about the United States vaccine uptake. How does that have anything to do with variants from other parts of the world?

-If every single person in the world got vaccinated, but vaccines aren't 100% effective (not even close), wouldn't there still be variants?

-Who are "you people?" Considering blacks have some of the lowest vaccine uptake rates, are you perhaps being a little racist?

-I'm not an "anti-vax fool" but think their whole point is that vaccines are dangerous and don't work, so I don't think they're the ones who were saying they "would 100% stop covid."

There will always be variants of SARS-CoV-2, just like there will always be strains of influenza. At some point you're going to have to find a different wedge issue.

You guys still think SARS-CoV-2 is polio and the vaccine is the difference between life and death. It's not and the worst symptom the vast majority of unvaccinated (without co-morbidities) experience is a head cold.

The only demographic the virus has made strides to "weed out" is obese people.
