The field for that race is stacked, the men have Gebrehariam running, along with Kibowen, and Koech. The women's field is even more insane with Kidane, the junior cross champ Dibaba, Benita Johnson of Australia who was 4th in the 4k and Berhane Adere. Potentially both world 5k records could go down, if the weather is good I say the women's 5k record gets toasted.

Although nothing will compare to watching Deena kick all their sorry asses last year...and setting a WR to boot!
I watched the entire world xc race live and Deena made me a believer. Anybody who talks shit about her doesn't know a thing about running. I think with the distance being a little shorter she will have Kidane's number this time.

Writing this race off as a Deena and Kidane matchup would be a huge mistake. Adere is in this field and she just mopped up at world indoors in the 3k, and frankly Deena hasn't shown she can beat her or even run close to her times over 5k, plus Deena is supposed to be running marathons as well, how would a distance shorter than the 8k she and Kidane raced at recently help her. I wasn't aware Deena was even running, but if she is she'll be in the thick of it, but I don't think she'll drop Adere and certainly cannot outkick her.

I was wrong. She's not running. Seeing her made me believe she could possibly steal the race ala last year if she was running. I definitely agree Adere is a threat.
