They’re both decked out in ON, but were both wearing Dragonflys.
Does ON not have a track spike?

I believe that ON is not their shoe sponsor. Much like Tracksmith or Oiselle On does not make quality shoes.
They're on athletes, but on lets them compete in other shoes.

Same with Chari Hawkins. Sponsored by On and although she tapes over the logo, she wears Nike.
On spikes should arrive early next year
They wear ON for 5000 miles per year and Nike for 50.
In the Late 70's, New Balance had not yet developed track spikes and sponsored athletes wore whichever preferred brand until NB caught up. Not that surprising. I'm sure ON will be there soon.

So they wear ON when no one is watching and they are training on their own in the privacy of their own group. When the lights are on and all eyes are on them and they have an opportunity to showcase their shoes of choice they scream to the world WE PREFER NIKE. Got it. They are Nike athletes.
Some tennis players have separate shoe and clothing contracts for the same reasons.
Basically the contract was they had to be very involved in the development of Ons new spike but didn’t have to wear it till they were happy with it. They spoke openly about this

This has been going on for quite a while, including at the Olympics, and also including Brooks and Reebok athletes. It's the new reality. But glad you noticed after all these months....

Do you not remember when Klecker ran in the on spikes? He threw them on the ground in 2020 at the Ed Murphy classic I believe. Since then I have no seen him in the ON spikes.

Nike shills gonna shill.
What do you get? On pays them and they train in their shoes. Not many people watch track meets. I watched yesterday. How many of you did? How many people follow them on social media? It is 100-1 the exposure. ON sales are taking off in the US.

Yeah it's been talked about openly. The deal also is part of why Morgan moved from UA to ON. Not sure if it's concern trolling or lack of awareness.

Weird post.
Thanks for the other replies.
On does not yet have a suepr spike. Rather than do what some brands originally did and forbid their athletes from wearing other brands, On allowed them to wear whatever shoes the need to perform well. There's a good chance that that agreement is why they still have the caliber of athletes that they have. Additionally, to the person that said they wear On when no one is looking: more people probably see their social media posts every day where they're decked out in On gear than watch them race when they're still wearing On gear but just Nike spikes for 13 minutes
