So yesterday in Spain, Burundi's Rodrigue Kwizera who has been the top guy on the World Athletics circuit earned a convincing win at the 39th Cross International de la Constitución (World Athletics Cross Country Tour - Gold) by running 29:09 with second place coming in at 29:23. Then he was DQd.

Current World Athletics Cross Country Tour leader, and Castellón, Soria, San Sebastián and Santiponce winner, Rodrigue Kwizera easily won the race but he was disqualified for not wearing the shirt of his Spanish club (Playas de Castellón) which is mandatory for all athletes who belong to Spanish Clubs, therefore Andessamed Oukhelfen won the race followed by Carlos Mayo.

On a sunny but cold day (8ºC), Burundi’s Rodrigue Kwizera was an overhelming winner in the men's race but he was later disqualified for not wearing the vest of his Spanish club, Playas de Castellon.
How is a DQ possibly the outcome of this for an official World Athletics event? It seems to me that a fine (strip him of all prize money) or ban from future events might be in store but how in the world can you DQ someone from a race he won for not having on the right shirt?
I think the DQ was over the top. If you didn't want him running the race in the shirt, then you should have checked the shirt at the start. Now, if they did do tht and specifically said, "You can't race in xx" and he did it anyway, then maybe I think the DQ is over the top?
Any Spaniards know the detials?
