A grown man at 28 years old won the Heisman Trophy and led his team to the BCS National Championship Game. Does that bother you? Or are you a bigot who is only bothered by Mormons?

It only bothers me that a 24-year-old is still in school, and wasting time running, instead of being out making his way in the real world, holding down a job, etc.
When one becomes a man, he really should put away childish things.
Did you know Gilbert Boit is 27? Does that bother you?
Does it bother you that Kipchoge won world GOLD in the 5,000 at age 18?
Does it bother you that Ingebretsen won 1500 Olympic GOLD at age 20?
Does it bother you that your bias is driven by religious bigotry?
Go cry on your Mama's shoulder.

I am also 24, in college, and still have eligibility. I'm no different than other students walking around. I'm sure if I asked some people in my classes their ages, they would be older than me, and I wouldn't even bat an eye.
24 is normal college age for anyone going straight into their master's program. If they are still going to school I don't see why people care.
Actually, 22 is normal college age for anyone going straight into a master's program -- unless you were held back, perhaps for athletics? Most people probably turn 23 the 1st year of their masters. 24 would come the second year. College if you do it in 4 years, is normally 18-22.
Who is the oldest runner to win men NCAA XC? Probably older than 24…

It is not my concern. Imagine if a grown man were favored to win the women’s race? That still would not be a problem for me but it would be a bigger issue.
If a man ruining women's sports doesn't bother you, I have to ask, does anything?

The good ol' BYU team.
Are there any men in the field who are under 18?
It would indeed be interesting to know:
Youngest winner
Oldest winner
Average age of winner
Median age of winner
Then we could put this discussion in context

Sometimes you have to learn to deal with your own problems and not waste energy on stuff that is not that important. If a grown man won the NCAA women’s cross country meet I would think that this is not ideal but it really wouldn’t be a problem for me in the sense that I have other more important issues to deal with. However, I am not rooting for a man to win the women’s race. The Brojos might be though as this place would explode with activity.
Meh. It's the American collegiate championships so...who cares? This is like getting all worked up that the Quad Cities River Bandits won the High A Central League baseball title with a couple of 25 year olds on their roster. Both are bush league affairs, most of the contestants will never make the big leagues, and most running fans outside of 'Murica don't give a crap. The most prestigious athletes and action are elsewhere.
Gotta say it doesn’t bother me in the least.
Someone help me. What is the mental disorder called when someone is bothered by someone else's legal behavior?
Pollard at ISU and Hacker at Wisconsin, graduated HS the same year as Mantz and they are competing tomorrow and they didn't do anything for someone else to get 7 years like Mantz did.
I had guys who were already grown men in my 6th grade class. A couple of years age difference in college is meaningless. It might be difficult for someone who hasn't grown up emotionally to understand this.
He’s actually 25, or will be in a few days … but he’s just playing by the NCAA rules, so good luck to him.
