Well Notre Dame requires their students to be vaccinated because they are not like Liberty in any number of ways.
Yes Liberty has actual correct Christian theology. Not some weird pray to mother Mary catholic stuff.
So I can obviously attend Liberty or another True Christian school and be vaccinated and be good to go personally. But from this, I'm realizing many of my teammates will not be allowed to compete at the big distance meets on the West Coast or in Boston and New York City. So more than likely, my potential future distance squad will be stuck at sprinter meets in the southeast (and by association, me). Especially as this makes it sound like Notre Dame will not let unvaxed into their indoor meets either?

We don't let Liberty "athletes" into our indoor meets regardless of vaccination status.

My wife has her MBA from Notre Dame and we are considering sending her there but hard to justify $250k. Notre Dame gives her no discount for her 35 ACT but but a 25% athletic scholarship. Liberty will give her a full ride between academics and athletics.
Good luck to your daughter in her decision. As a graduate of Notre Dame and knowing several people with degrees from Liberty, in my view the ND degree opens more doors and is considered far more valuable. Of course, that result could differ based on the academic interests of your daughter.
I went to a pretty conservative college and they mandated vaccines. Kind of surprising that schools like Liberty & ND did not. Guess it's on them if they can't attend certain meets. Sucks for the kids (especially those who are vaccinated) & something to think about if you want to run in college.

ND does, as has been pointed out in this very thread.

Apparently it's happening...either the schools or counties (or possibly even states) that play host to the biggest meets in California, Washington, Oregon are about to require vaccination to participate in their events. Which means Stanford, Mt. SAC, and all the meets hosted in Eugene will not allow unvaccinated student-athletes. And the big indoor meets at the Dempsey at UW and Spokane will be a no-go. Word is Boston & New York City are about to do the same so there went their indoor meets. Will Liberty and schools like them be confined to Notre Dame and whatever SEC schools will let them into their meets? I realize they'll have plenty of options in conservative states...but no distance athletes are running fast times at those meets...
Disclaimer: I'm vaccinated but at least moderately sympathetic to the no-vax crowd. With that on the table, I'd welcome you to view this as a first wave of what will likely be increasingly hard choices for the no-vax crowd. I wouldn't be entirely surprised, however, if this somehow turns in the next year and there start being hard choices for the vax crowd as well. Mostly, we need to stop clutching at one another's throats and start taking more responsibility for our own decisions without trying to insist that everyone else out there is bound to bow to our conveniences.
You mention the no-vax crowd as if it's all white and Evangelical/Catholic. It's not. Not even close. The harder the vax crowd pushes, the more it's going to come out that there is a very large contingent of non-white and non-Evangelicals/non-Catholics who aren't vaccinated and don't intend to become so (take a peak at the news currently coming out of the NBA). Making a bogeyman of white religious types will only carry you so far...
You are making a big assumption that they are not already vaccinated. My son runs there and I know that most of his teammates are vaccinated.
He loves his time there, his teammates, and the coaching staff.

When you pick a college that from the get go will restrict your world view, running is the smallest of your problems.
Over 70% of the guys XC team IS vaccinated. And they just released their track schedule which includes the same meets they attend about every year.
You should also bring this up to coaches there and the athletes on the team so you are more informed and can better make a decision. The biased crowd on Letsrun isn’t the best place to help make your decision

Is there refusal to get the vaccine a religion thing? Did their students receive the 10 or so vaccines required to attend public schools or were they all home schooled?

What's ironic is that all major religions (maybe not Islam, so hard to guess what's in their mind) support getting the vaccine, even the Pope says so. Problem with religion is that it turns a lot (most?) of people into complete wackos, largely because a lot of curriculum in the US has been influenced by religious institutions (mostly in TX where like 90% of school textbooks come from).
The premier Ivy schools were founded my Protestant missionaries to train ministers. There’s that ya know.
People believe in freedom of choice in America. A vaccine that does not stop the spread of a virus and may cause fast moving cancers should not be mandated. Get over it because we won’t let 1984 become reality as much as you want it.
If you want the vax then go for it. If not then so be it. But your vax preaching is worse then the “sinners in the hands of an angry god” religious preachers you hate so much.
By the way God is not angry. He loves you and was willing to die for you. You just need to accept that. No rituals. No giving money. Nothing except your heart. You will die one day too. Yeah I know you think there’s nothing after this life but there really is. We can argue all day but consider you may be wrong. I do and every time I do I believe even more there is a God even more. Go ahead call me names. It doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is eternity.

Sure. There aren't too many conservatives that believe in freedom of choice in regard to abortion.

I’m sorry that person abused you. It wasn’t your fault. It’s not Gods fault. They chose to do that to you and it was wrong. There’s counselors whom will help you.

They do. They believe the child should have a choice to choose life.
