The fact that we have two national championships in the first place is stupid.
This is an opportunity for Foot Locker to regain their place as the primary national championships for high schoolers.
Instead RunningLane pops up and tries to grab kids to run there instead. Seems like a selfish money grab to me. I get that there's a market for it (really good teams that want a team race) but what's the issue with sending your kids to foot locker?
The individual competition is what matters anyways.

NXN is successful because everyone wanted a team championship in HS cross country. Foot locker could have stepped up last year and this year and they did not. Some kids will still choose FL, but Running Lane is awesome and great for these High School kids.
Last year it was good, but this year it looks to be a great event with the top teams going after it. I can se Running Lane matching NXN quality
RILEY MF HOUGH just committed to RunningLane!

Amazing field!!
Are registrations open for FL regionals? I don't see anything on the website and they are allegedly a little over a month away...

As we all know NXN is done. What I find cool about RXC is that we no longer have to speculate about the best teams vs best individuals. The races will be seeded according to performance metrics like the Milesplit 50,
It's still biased. There is a team ahead of us high on that list that we are currently 2-0 over the season so far at big meets where we were both 100% in terms of attendance. We are going to beat them again though and maybe then we can plead our case.

The NXN regional meets are still happening. With those results and state championships the MileSplit 50 should (hopefully) be a better representation. Right now it's still a lot of guessing how teams would stack up.

The rumor is they are about to cancel

Cases are on the decline nationally and aren’t bad in California. No reason to cancel. Hopefully they take a close look and can see that.
Is RunningLane paying for teams to come in?
No, they aren't and they have an open entry policy. Nike and footlocker have always required teams to pay their own expenses to go to the regional meet. I don't see how this is any different considering that Runninglane has no regional meet. Colorado teams have been well represented at NXN and FL. The regional meets are 12 hours away for (NXR), and 15 hours away (FL). Runninglane is only a couple more hours away. I think the idea that teams having to travel on their own dime to Alabama somehow detracts from this being a true national championship is not viable. Also, most of these top schools are traveling to at least one out of state meet every year on their own dime. Whether that be NXR, or a regular-season meet like Desert Twilight, Woodbridge, etc.
Lots of top individuals signed up as well!
