Is Engles a JV type runner? Looking like the hobby jogger HS kid that finishes last and hypes up the crowd LOL

the brewskies may be catching up with him.
Anyone got a clip?
did he celebrate early and then lose?
He literally said on the PMT podcast that’s he’s been partying ever since the trials. I’m honestly shocked he even ran in this race.
I feel like people here think that Engels “partying” and “enjoying a cold one” is just a schtick.....it’s not. He may be a world class runner, but he also doesn’t actually enjoy running. If we’re going to praise Craig for being “just like us”, we can’t all of sudden be hard on him when he decides to relax after a disastrous past 18 months. Give the dude a break.
To be fair, he lost to Geordie Beamish, a pretty solid miler. Who knows how the race played out. Former NCAA indoor champ. No slouch.

That's bullsh!t. He's supposed to be a role model, not some clown. I wish he would drive away in his van and never come back.
looks like splits were 56.23, 58.74, 62.82, for a 2:57.79 through 1200 meters. Assuming Craig was right with the leaders at the bell... he had to have gone 56.6 on his final 409, if not faster if he was off the back. Beamish must have been closer to 56.1 on the last 409.

Engels has run 3:33.64 for 1500. Beamish only 3:37.57.
Engels lost to someone 4 seconds slower than his PB. That's a big difference in the 1500. Very embarrassing.

We no longer praise gents for racing final 409.xx metres in 56.xx seconds.
So nobody has a clip of this epic moment???
He did handily dispatch Henry Wynne who recently went 3:34 flat.
He came off the last turn while passing the French named Canadian, looked right and left, then waved on the crowd with his right hand thinking he’d won.
Beamish was too far back at that point for Craig to even see him. Beamish blasted by and Craig laughed, realizing how dumb it all looks now.
Great for him to be enjoying this post OT season, he looks really happy. He seems to me like a guy on a retirement tour — taking in the cheers and enjoying the moment.
Unfortunate he isn’t more invested because he’s a massive talent, but I’m not gonna bash the guy for that.

He's not supposed to be a role model.
Do you think he is because he is sponsored? Because a company pays him to show off their brand, you know like how football players represent their brand (team). And how often do football players screw around and lose out on scoring because of dumb mistakes? All the time! ESPN has highlights (or lowlights) weekly of morans in football and hockey, yet no body cares about them not being role models.

Man, that was cringe. Wow.
Lets be gentle here. Remember mental health
Just another overhyped american runner. We have a lot of those in middle distance.
Did folks not see the race? Engels pumped up the crowd coming around the final turn then got passed a little before the line. Barely held on for second.

A role model to whom? If you need pro runners to raise your kids you got deeper issues.
