No but twisting the knife is fantastic gamesmanship.
Pretty classless. I like Jakob, but Gjert is an insufferable blowhard.

I think he’s right though, Jakob is still improving

No I do not.
But the way this race went makes me skeptical about the reports of Jakob's illness interrupting his training. Have we seen proof Jakob was actually sick?
Seems to have played into the way Jakob basically baited Tim C to take it out very fast to run the kick out of guys like Kerr, Wightman, Hoare, Hocker, etc.

Of course he's right.
I've said it before, that the first time Jakob beats Tim, he'll never lose to him again.
Gjert is clearly a genius, btw. Jakob's weakness was his kick, and they clearly worked hard on that.
Worked perfectly for Jakob! What a talent. He’s only getting better. Would love to see him go for the 5000m at the next Olympics or possibly doubling if the schedule allows.
Not bad for Kerr either! Well deserved medal. Last lap splits?
To be fair, he only said this after being asked.

.
Doubt very much he would have pulled out of Bislett otherwise. If he wanted to take a fake injury break, he would have done it at a different time than missing his home Diamond League.
It probably helped him though.

Well he’ll have to improve just a little more to beat Tim’s PB. Today he moved from 7th on the all time list to…. 7th on the all time list. Brilliant run, but he drafted off a guy who can’t even count the number of races he has run that fast on one hand. Slow down, Jakob will lose again, and he will lose to many more than just Tim.

Jakob slowed down towards the end when the victory didnt felt threatened. Everyone could see that he soon will be strong enough to fight for a new WR.

Maybe it means Jakob had decided to retire.
I mean Jakob will have access to all the drugs Gjert can buy so I don’t doubt he will remain on top.
Jakob in interview just now shows bracelet that Tim gave him after the race.
When asked about Gjerts comment says it felt like Tim passed the throne. Continues to praise Tims sportsmanship

Yeah, there's no bad blood here. Gjert only said this when asked about it. Jakob and Tim have great respect for eachother.

I'll save this post for when Tim beats Jakob again.

Classic Norwegian arrogance on display.
You are one of the most arrogant people on the planet.

Isn't that what all the "AFRICANS ARE DOPING" crowd always says?
Well then...

Interesting that his father feels the need to say that.
More interesting that he believes it is true.
And very telling that he feels the need to believe it is true.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
