The GOAT David Rudisha will not be in Tokyo, which means we will have a new Olympic champion in 2021. Can world leader Nijel Amos finally get it done on the big stage? If not, this race is wide open.

FEAR KORIR
1. Korir
2. Amos
3. Arop
Perhaps it will work. Let's see how it will be.
It's wide open as you say and the only certain thing is that the 800 is always full of surprises. Amos is one of my favourite 800m runners ever so I have to back him for the gold. All the kenyans look lethal and Arops PR in Monaco were he led for most of the last lap was impressive. Guys who really can kick will prevail in a champ setting, and I guess that puts the spotlight on guys like Murphy, Tuka and Dustin. Dustin has finished like a god damn train every time I've seen him race, but I'm not sure if you can run on the outside lane for the last 300m and still catch up like he usually does. Giles have been consistent now as well and had that crazy indoor season.
I'm going
1: Amos
2: Korir
3: Murphy
Don't sleep on Tonatiu. Believe he will be on the podium
2 things:
1. To not pick Murphy is stupid. He will medal.
2. That video on the polish guy is terrible.
1. Dustin
2. Amos
3. Giles

After Eugene, I would have agreed with you. After his last 3 races in Europe, my opinion has changed.
Most wide open event in the Olympics. Can’t wait.
Training races....they dont matter. Likely running killer workouts at the same time. I would worry more if he was running 1:42 right now.
This is a fun race, hard to project. Amos is a deserving favorite after that Monaco race. Outside of that, my favorite bets would be Korir +550 (right there with Amos), Murphy +800 (navigates championships well), and -- if chaos reigns -- Elliot Giles (having his career year) at +2000
Here we go, people writing off Clayton Murphy yet again. Yes his races in Europe sucked, but it was 3 races in one week with workouts in between. He has proven that he performs when it matters.
People are really sleeping on Jewett. He is fearless and will go with any pace, and will likely set the pace in the final if he makes it. I could very well see him hanging on for a medal.
Saruni won the Kenyan Trials, just curious why nobody is picking him? This event is wide open. Probably like 12 people with legit medal shots.
Anyone think swimmer Ryan Murphy looks like 800m runner Clayton Murphy?

Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?

Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
