Hunters contact is a drop in the bucket for adidas. You do realize that they’re the second biggest sports company in the world besides Nike, right?
Adidas probably profits hunters full contact in a day.
It's just a bummer that they go all in on someone who hasn't proved themselves beyond running good times 'for a high schooler', when they could have given money to several people who are doing just as good and make nothing. If he really is making several hundred thousand per year (I still highly doubt that) then you could give 14 people $50k per year who are just outside that top tier who currently have absolutely nothing. I'm talking people like Biya Simbassa, Jacob Thomson, or one of the many 3:37-3:39 guys who have nothing, or one of the now many marathoners who have run 2:12 or better and have absolutely nothing. Adidas could literally pick up 14 of those guys and they could start training full time instead of having to set aside a good chunk of their week to their side job.

Lol of course Parsons is framing this as a move to get more women's coaches in running. I don't know why anyone would want to join Tinmom elite. Just seems like a bad joke.
TinMom Elite
amazing stuff
The problem is NOT that she is a mom or a female, it is because she has never coached college much less professional runners.
She has zero experience.
The only solace is that Adidas is probably paying her zero. But the real question is if she is moving to Boulder or just going to send training. This group needs a tougher coach that will challenge them.

Adidas' contract with Drew Hunter will go down as one of the WORST sports deals of all time.
There are tons of stories of 1st overall draft picks being busts, but rookie contracts are generally smaller (relative to the sport). Drew Hunter got a MASSIVE contract.
Adidas is feeling fine about the contract. I guarantee you Hunter sells more Adidas gear through Tinman Elite than he would as some random guy running 3:31 and making a few Olympic teams. Hunter and TME have more reach and influence than 99% of other pro runners, even ones who are way faster.
It’s disappointing that Hunter hasn’t run faster, but he’s sold plenty of shoes and that’s all Adidas cares about.

hard to imagine they'll be able to recruit any good new training partners for Drew with this dynamic, unless they pop off some great performances over the next year
They need a food truck close by and they'll be ok. I could see them going that route as it's laughable this coaching change (to onlookers anyway, heard on here she's a good HS coach), and need big performances now more than ever.

You know that most people are not on IG right? That includes people that buy running shoes.

Interesting observation
That is an insightful post... thanks
Maybe they just wanted orange slices after workouts.
The whole situation is just sad.

Pure Sexism at Letsrun. Seb Coe coached by his dad fine. Jacob coached by his dad fine. Drew coached by his mom unacceptable.

At least 40% of US adults use Instagram (59% of them daily and 80% of them at least weekly), and probably (purely speculating) over 90% of US teenagers use Instagram.
https://www.pewresearch.org/internet/fact-sheet/social-media/That being said, Drew Hunter's 54k followers is extremely modest for the $400k/year Adidas pays him and he wasn't even in the Olympic trials or any other televised track meets this year. It probably is a bad contract for Adidas, but before he turned into an indie weirdo whose best friend is a fragile snowflake and who is coached by his mom, he was a phenomenon and may have been worth the risk.

Good for them escaping the liberal cesspool of Loudon Co VA.
Haha, that's funny. It doesn't get more liberal than Boulder.

So true. A good coach is determined by many things: leadership, past coaching success, training philosophies. It sure as hell isn't affected by gender. This sport is about running fast times and winning races. The more they chose to focus on non important forward thinking agendas the less they focus on running fast.
Momma, Momma, can I have a bowl of macaroni ?

The truth is hard sometimes. You can put a label on it if you want, but things are what they are.
He makes $100k per year plus college. That is a fact regardless of how many of you claim otherwise. I used to coach in the conference with the Hunters while most of you are repeating and increasing what you heard here.
I bet Tom “Tinman” Schwartz is laughing his butt off. 🤣 🤣 🤣
