OK, here goes. I'll be somewhat vague to protect the identity of my team, that greatly depends on me, although I have not been able to perform.
I ran sub 14:40 in the spring, and continued intense training through the summer. 80+ in July, 90-100 in August. Pickups and hill work mixed begining at the end of July. So far so good, started Cross feeling good.
In the two first meets i ran 32flat for 10K, and 24:50 for 8K. I was like ok, these are PR's good for now, start knocking some heads around conference and then regionals.
Then the sh*t show starts, same 8k as before in 25:30, and felt like death doing it. My workouts have been mediocre at best, not any better than 2 months ago. I've been 100-110 since Sept 1.
Diet and sleep. I do my best 8hrs a night, still kinda tired. I eat right. I drink on occasion.
I know there is a sub 24:30 in me somewhere. I've done the work! How do i tap into it?
