The recent change-up in the training last week corresponded to a weekly mileage of 56 miles, which was the highest since I started training last year. However, as I enter what is, in effect, my 'sophomore' season', I didn't get too far into this new phase of training before I was thrown a curve-ball in the form of 'warm and humid weather'. It compounded the problem I was experiencing with recovery/motivation. I therefore only have 11 miles of running and two pool sessions so far this week.

Felt that. These last couple weeks have been rough for motivation for a lot of us. I live in a place where it’s currently 90-100 degrees every day along with 15-20 mph winds. Really not ideal for base training, nonetheless, I’ve been running 65-75 mpw consistently for the first time in my life. It’s quite mentally taxing.
Today’s workout was 20x400m on/off with the ons at goal 8k pace (about 5:00-5:10 pace) , and the offs at 8:00-8:30 a mile. Felt good because I ran this on an indoor track in a facility with about 65 degrees and no wind (obviously)

Wow, good for you. That indoor facility sounds nice. (I do not enjoy doing anaerobic stuff on a treadmill.)
I pay particular attention to the dew point; in the 60's just gets progressively a concern the higher it goes, and without shade compounds the issue. That's when a breeze is welcomed.
Thanks for contributing.
Here are a couple of sessions since my last installment:
I 'scaled-into' the threshold bounce, and might try notching back the high HR alert even further on these in the future to reduce intensity.
Scaled-into some 'Aerobic Quarters', ran roughly at threshold pace:
Temps have climbed into the 90's, and Dew Points above 60degF this week.
The workout below was roughly the same pace as the previous posting, but it was full sun this time, versus cooler conditions after dark. I tried the AlphaFly's to see if they would be easier on my knees.
One evening this week, I participated in the following grueling TimeTrial session on a hilly cross-country course; wearing spikes, for the first time in years, added to the trauma:
In the above heart rate trace, notice anything particularly 'strange'? I was flabbergasted, to say the least.

So I'm faced with the possibility that my Maximum Heart Rate may actually be 175bpm (which I sustained in the latter stages of the x-country TT), versus 169bpm that I have been led to believe is my maximum, up to this point in time. I have reason to believe that both may be correct, depending upon oh hot and humid the conditions are!

This is a curiosity. Can anyone else cite an example where their Maximum Heart Rate increased by over 3.5% in less than a month's time, with an increase in weather temperature & humidity conditions?
The traces attached below are from a session conducted in the wee hours of this morning. The pace of the 400's was Above Anaerobic Threshold, between 15k and 10k pace.
In the 'Case 1' plot, I place the Max Heart Rate percentile lines under the assumption that my Max Heart Rate is 169bpm.
