He is almost 2 years younger than Hocker
It’s crazy how hyper specialized he is.
Nothing at 800m. Nothing at 5000m.
Nothing at 3000m (but I have trouble believing that he could not crack 7:45)

Hyper specialized meaning lack of race of opportunities
Kessler to Hocker: "Your move....."

Well he ran 8:39 which was pretty good. Definitely think he can run faster now. But uhhh his pr is better than Hockers, and he may be able to close better than him based off of what he did today. It will be interesting to see who can handle an ultra super Centro approved tactical race, as that is certainly what the trials 1500 will be.
Kid was dropping 25 second 200m sprints in his HS races. That kind of speed is gold medal ability right there.
Isnt he a competitive rock climber. That upper body strength comes in handy when it’s time to sprint. Take note other youngsters.

Climbs 5.14c
Yes that's "competitive"
...If you've ever heard of Alex Honnold (Free Solo fame) then compare to Honnold's redpoint top grade @ 5.14d

most pro climbers take years to get to .14c you nimwit....he is a incredible athlete for sure. there was an article from this past winter with him saying he wants to be the first person to rock climb 5.15 and go sub 4....i bet he puts his climbing on the back burner now that he is olympic running material.
It took the commentators more than a minute after the race to realize that Kessler ran what he did.
Damn Mzungos. People already awarding them both the gold medal before the American collegiate system has had the chance to ruin them.
