Here's your sign....(as I hold up a giant STUPID sign).
just a simple question no need for the insults.
My question is was he getting paid because he was running well within himself.looking around and giving reports to deena.just thought its a long way to run if u are not gona get paid for running well under ur pb.his pb is 2.14/
He actually had one of those sandwich billboards on advertising a deli on Michigan. So all and all a nice effort for Verran. Though I undertand the sign was not made of wood but of light weight cardboard. Still it was breezy and did make proper arm motion problematic.
He was paid and paid well......
how much?40 dollars?

fool, it's deena kastor, not dena castor and why do you suppose clint verran would run step-for-step w/deena? he got paid darn well to do so. geesh.
It's my understanding that Clint Verran wasn't just pacing Deena, he was actually coaching her throughout the course, talking to her and such. I don't really recall very many marathons when the male pacemaker for the men turns around and starts talking to them, encouraging them.
I understand that the marathon is a road race whith mixed genders, but you don't see men pacing women in cross country or track races at the junior high, high school, collegiate or international level, so why do we see it in the marathon?
That is a very good question. If you allow men to help women on the roads why shouldn't it be allowed on the track??????

wow i can't believe how many times you posted that. you suck. at life.
Excellent point,we all know there are pace makers but for the entire race. Come on now. Where does this nonsense end.
1952 Olympic Marathon: Zátopek asked Peters about the pace, who replied that it was too slow. So Zátopek took off an won. Does this constitute coaching?
1968 Olympic marathon: Abebe Bikila tells Mamo Wolde to go. He wins. Was he aided?
2003 Berlin Marathon: Pacemaker Sammy Korir stayed with Tergat all the way until the finish in a new WR time -- should he be DQ'd?
2005 Chicago Marathon: Felix Limo was in a pack of four guys for the closing miles -- would he have run so well had he not been in that pack?
2004 Olympic Marathon: Meb Keflezighi said to Stefano Baldini (in Italian), "Let's get him," pointing to the tiring Vanderlei da Lima. They caught him. Should they be disqualified for helpping one another?
In every case, all persons involved were legal competitors in the race. If you don't like it (in the case with Deena and Verran) then petition the IAAF to no longer recognize women's WRs in mixed races.
Thanks for the suggestion Trackhead, i think i might actually do that.

That's the only way that changes can be made to prevent displays of poor sportsmanship like this in the future.
Take it up with the IAAF.
Let it go dude. Seriously, just how many times are you going to post the exact same post on every one of the many Deena Kastor threads?
