Mo Farah has some competition this summer.
Heh, you think? 38 year old Mo doesn’t stand a chance against the Ugandans.
Genzebe Dibaba highlights the 1500 in ~10 minutes. Decent probability of a DNS/DNF, but something sick like 3:55 is conceivable too.
WOW! Kerley with a strong 9.96 to beat Gatlin and DeGrasse! He looked so good
He's backed up his 9.91
Well, I was wrong about Kerley.
Gatlin needs to get his start back.
Do the pacers not see the lights that they're running way ahead of? Terrible

Kerley will be exposed, if he runs—he is also entered in the 200.

I knew kerley had a good chance of winning , Gatlin has been inconsistent and degrasse hadn't shown he was in sub 10 shape.
Before she even races today, it seems like Ostrava isn't Sha'Carri-certified:
Basic conversion, for anyone interested (with basic SB coming into meet in parenthesis):
Kerley: 10.03 (10.00)
Gatlin: 10.15 (10.05)
DeGrasse: 10.24 (10.06)
Pretty big dropoff for DeGrasse from his April runs in Florida; medium size drop for Gatlin from that point. Kerley is pretty much right there where the +2.0 performance said he was.
I'm a Gatlin stan, btw. Worried right now!
Dibaba looked like the third pacer as badly as she fell off. Maybe that was planned.

Lol, what a brat.
Dibaba with a bad look in the 1500: gets passed by the entire field with less than 300m to run so she just steps off the track. More dignified IMO to finish the dang race and accept defeat.

Let me also say - I think chilly weather has a bigger effect than most people recognize on sprint performance. It's like 55 F right now in Ostrava, which counts as chilly to me.
True kerley probably would have matched his pb had it been 85 degrees

LOL, I'll take it. He did look good in his earlier races, and even though these times indicate that Gatlin and ADG under-performed, a win is a win. Didn't Gatlin just race in Japan? Huge travel. And ADG, who knows.
IF IF IF IF IF this was a race in which everyone was slow, then HOLY SHlT he really is a serious sub-10 guy who will figure in the 100m final at trials, and who looks to be a medal favorite, along with Bromell and maybe Baker.
I still don't know if I will include his 9.91 in the basic list, we will see. Have to compare this performance.
Can't wait to see the vid, incredible. Can't wait for more races.
Baker - Kerley - Laird - Bromell
I'm not too concerned about Gatlin, he doesn't always look fantastic and has a few low ten races but tends to come through when it matters.
I'm pumped for Kerley in 200. Calling...19.79
Here are some splits from Komen that I found on a thrad from 2004:

A 10-flat basic in crap conditions? Are you kidding me? AFTER TRAVEL?!

Yes. ADG is THE BEST at laying low and peaking when it counts, but Gatlin is also good at it.
I would have gone 19.72 for Kerley's 200m, but I'll go 19.83 in these conditions.
