Honestly better than I was expecting, still got DFL in his heat. Odds he goes faster before trials?

He isn't going to be at the trials....
But way better than I expected, and major props to him for showing up and racing! Respect.
He was pretty darn good.
His start was much better than expected given how big he was. Jonathan Gault said it best "I couldn't tell he wasn't a pro runner until at least halfway into that race."
And I'm quite proud of myself as on our VIP bonus podcast, I analyzed this thing nearly perfectly pre-race. I said I thought Ato Boldon had disrespected the sprinters a little bit and felt that 10.40 should be the over/under line.
There were a number of reasons why I thought 10.3 something made sense.
1) It's halfway between what is truly world class for a man (10.00) and the best women in the world (10.70s). I had no doubt that he'd dust ShaCarri Richardson.
2) It's similar to the equivalent of what former Randy Moss - who is the same height as DK - ran on limited track practice back in his day. Moss ran 21.15 for 200 indoors which is like 10.3 outdoors for 100.

PS. I added in "Rojo nailed it" to the title as it's my website and I'm an ego maniac.
Do you mean you thought that Ato had disrespected the football players? Also you really are boasting a lot in this post. What did Kellogg say? Does your friend have any thoughts?

My guess was a 10.5 so he is a hair faster than what I rhought. I am guessing he might get down to like 10.2 by running a few more races but I sort of doubt he gets faster than rhat without losing like 20lbs. You see this with HS who struggled to match their HS times in college because of the weight gains they did for football. Obviously know nothing about how he has been training.
So this is what the fastest football players can run? The "so greatest of all athletes"?? Slow as molasses.
There is so much that is laughable about this post, that I won’t even begin to comment😂😂😂😂😂
Rojo,
I want to kiss you on the lips
Joe Namath?

As stated above football players put on mass for football. If he took off 20 pounds he'd be much faster but that would hurt his ability to deal with the punishment of football. There are probably a few leaner players who are faster.
He's not the fastest NFL player. Maybe top 15. He's possibly the fastest/biggest combo in the NFL. 230+lbs going that fast is scary.
Fastest player right now is Tyreek Hill, or John Ross, I'd guess. They would both dust DK in a 100.

DK isn't even close to being the fastest player in the NFL. 0/10
As a hs soph, Moss ran 10.94 / 21.95 to win the 100/200 at WV state meet. This was on a weekend break from baseball, where he was centerfielder. Also his only year of his track.
The 21.15 200 was while he was at Marshall.
The real question with these pro stars is not how fast can they run when they go from their sport to the track with little training, but what they could do off they trained seriously for track. Metcalf would not be 229 pounds, if trying to optimize his 100/200 times.
Still lots of fun to watch.
I called 10.4. Pretty impressive for a man his size. T&F fans should be thanking him for participating. The event got so much more attention then it would have.

No, there a south African guy that was over 230 that ran 10 flat a year or two ago. No excuses. Erasmus?

Woahhh now. Randy Moss could of easily been an Olympic sprinter. He never worked out out and casual ran those times at 19. We’re talking a total natural freak of nature. He could of been the USA’s Bolt. Instead he’s the most athletic WR to ever play and probably the second best one. Plus a good ol WV boy.
Yep, Erasmus from RSA.
Metcalf’s time is not decent, it is excellent. This is a guy who does not train sprints.
Excellent.👍. Have yet to see the race vid.
He is huge compared to his competitors, and looked like he just about belonged. I am impressed. I think the casual fan will see the race and say he's not quite as fast as the track stars but the fact he can almost run with them and be so big makes him impressive. This is a win for dk. And he silenced reknown sprint commentator Ato Boldon by surpassing the 10.5 prediction significantly.

The time is extremely impressive I did not think he would have ran that fast, specially after seeing his blocks starts (looked too slow for 10.3) but come on he literally trains "sprints" everyday, he's an wr...
