Now, considering you're the Aussie stat man, I suppose you could answer this question.
How do they pick the team? Not like US, I guess. Do they just subjectively do it like many countries? Is it already set?

Nice background story. Hoping a list is coming today, like to do top ten m and w even if they are ten full min outside a qualifying time.
Wait, what? wrote:

Well, this Sunday is a chance to get a qualifying time. If you look on World Athletics they list if we have more than three m and w with one. Don’t know if they subjectively choose like GB or take the 3 quickest?

We have a list: one woman, 22 men incl. Ben st Lawrence
Ruth Croft of NZ
Benny Saint, 2.14.27 pb
Jaryd Clifford debut (10k 29.44) 21yo
Harry Summers??
Can Ecuadorian Christian Vasconez back up after just two weeks? PB in Siena, Italy, 34th in 2.12.50.

No
Caden Shields of NZ: 2.15.36 on GC 2019 then 30th in W/Champs
Charles Kipkorir, KEN, 2.25.39 in 2018
That's a shame. Definitely has the ability to post a qualifier. Tom do Canto is another to keep an eye on if he races.

Without knowing anything, I can say that Clifford is definitely not on debut. I would bet my house he’s just pacing roger for his WR attempt

Depending on what his personal situation is at the time
An entrant here was 144th in Valencia in 2.27.55 in 2019 then 3.32 quicker in Japan last year

Another ran 2.22.45 in Berlin in 2018 when Kipchoge broke the WR. He was three sec ahead of the sixth woman, Helen Tola.
What about 44yo Philo Saunders on debut with his half PB of 66.10 dating back 15 years here in my home city of Brisbane. Mainly a 1500 runner over his career.
Many of the field are pacing duty for Michael Rodgers. Good luck to him.
