Anyone else notice the “Longest time defending Olympic 1500 champ” “fact” from the announcers/Centro was BS? Tell that to Jack Lovelock, who won with a faster winning time in 1936.

I think its time he moves up to 5k. Very competitive scene right now but it doesn’t seem like the 1500 is his event anymore. Schumacher needs to get him back in 13 shape and hope he can close
Really? I hope he makes the 1500 team , but he looked off. He was fit enough to go through 1000 m with Kerr but faded badly. He needs a few months of great training to make the US team, and even if he does he'd be lucky to make the Olympic final (and can't see him medalling). Although I hope he proves me wrong!

I don't how they act like Centro is the same as these other guys. He's the damn Olympic champion.
To me, Centro was great. He looked way better than anyone besides Kerr. I don't care where he finished. Centro's a lock for the team assuming he starts the Trials.
Dude he looked TOASTED
I thought he looked pretty good. He was just getting a workout in.
Just awful pacing in that men's 1500. Shooting for the olympic standard and they go through 400 in 60???

No, he just looked like he's not fully there aerobically yet. Speed is there.

The copium is flowing rojo. Centro needs to move up to the 5k or retire. 0 chance of a medal in Olympic / WC. No one will let 2016 happen again. Wish one of the oregon bois were in this race to make this boomer mentality eat his words. Also Josh Kerr is clearly >>>>> than centro rn.
Wow big fan of the commentary! Kyle and JM have much better vibes than Kyle/Chris in Texas. Love Chris on his podcast, but just didn't think he translates well to announcing.

He got crushed in the last lap, isn’t that supposed to be his specialty?
Kerr looks so much like Ollie Hoare - - - big, strong guy - - - sure looks like 2 of the best 1500 guys in the world are right here tonight - - - really have to wonder what a 3:32 guy (Hoare) can do in the 5k a bit later.

This is totally inexplicable to me.

Could not respond at all to the move. Got beat by old ass man Nick Willis by almost 2 seconds.

Both strong contenders to maybe get bronze. Still don't think anybody is stopping a Cheryiuot-Ingebrigtsen 1-2.

No, he just died at 1300. Again, he's at 85%.
Not a chance JM/merber is better than Chavez/merber.... JM’s dry humor just doesn’t do it for me, sounds awkward the entire time

Agree. They're working too hard trying to be entertaining. Last week had an easy flow.
To each his own
But the Pike Place Market jokes are doing it for me

Centro's races over the last year include a 1:50 800. A win in the B heat of a 5K 2 months ago. And now this.
Not looking good. Happy to be completely wrong and for him to turn it around but. Not looking good you can't deny it.
2 of the best 1500 guys? Are you talking about generally for the possibility of them doing well and running low 3:30s ? It seems to me everyone else is 1-2 seconds behind Cheruiyot and Jakob Ingebrigtsen
