Of course 5k and 10k are not traditional distances so that is a major factor but with COVID I would have thought kids would have taken a shot at the records at the longer distances via time trials. I see kids like Kessler jumping into pro races at the shorter stuff, no takers for any of these pro meets for the longer distances (esp last year)?
I'd love to see the first American highschool kid go sub 28 in the 10000m or sub 13:30 in the 5000m. As a fan, I'd be excited to see that than YAS4 (Yet Another Sub 4) .
