I can't believe no one started a thread about this. Great that there is video of it.

Thanks:
I got 24.4, 25.6 for the splits.
She sure is a thing!
I mean something!
Unpopular opinion but maybe she could throw down a leg on the USA 4x4
I’m not opposed to Holloway or Dixon either
whoa.
with splits like that......she can go so much faster
She will do what Sydney McLaughlin did and give 1 year to NCAA to check that box and then turn pro. She never ran with a high school team and likewise, there isn't much upside running in college when she is already faster than everyone else. NCAA champ then she's outta there. It will be interesting to see if Nike can outbid New Balance as they will be extremely interested in her.

She was always fast but her form looks greatly improved and/or she is a lot stronger. BTW this relay split was noted in the thread on her 2:01 800 m.
Serious question; is this the fastest (indoor) relay split ever?
I looked up the 2018 NCAAs where McLaughlin and Ellis broke the AR, Ellis ended up splitting 50.11 later on their relay.

When do you expect her to become NCAA champ?
What is the question? Looks like an easy indoor win thus year. Her 800 is still not as fast as other Americans though. Cain was 2 seconds faster when she went pro and it never worked for her.

Cain was dealing with a whole heap of issues that probably affected her improvement. Also, she was NOT 2 seconds faster.. her indoor PR is 2:02. If you don't see the difference between a 1:59.5 outdoors and a 2:01 indoors then don't bother responding.
50 flat in the 400, even in a relay split, seems pretty pro worthy to me
Top 2 women in the NCAA and their PRs. Top high school girls and their PRs.
Mu - Indoor 2:01 Outdoor 2:01
Hurta - Indoor 2:02 Outdoor 2:04
Whittaker - Indoor 2:02 Outdoor 2:05
Willis - Indoor 2:03 Outdoor 2:04
How about the 5k?
Izzo - Indoor 15:13 Outdoor 15:50
Kelati - Indoor 15:14 Outdoor 15:22

Wow you are so funny. You should write a screenplay.
She is capable of 1:56-1:57 this year if The Diamond League has a regular schedule, I could see her running 48 for 400 and 1:54 for 800 and who knows what in the 1500 maybe sub 3:50 WR?
What a talent.
Whittaker will beat her in the long run.

WOW!
I was not aware; thanks for the post; a 50:03 split is super-super quick. I fact it is the fastest indoor 400m split I can recall from a college athlete. Mu also looks much more refined. Our ladies have done too well in the 400m the last couple of years; if I am processing this correctly, the USA may have found it's next 400m star.

I am speculating Cain's greatest success was pre puberty, which is basically like being Shirley Temple. I speculate Athing is on the other side. Based on what I just saw, you can't put Cain and Athing in the same sentence. I am pretty sure Athing's focus is now the 400m, but if she continues to train for the 800m, my guess is she will run 1:56. I don't think Jearl Miles Clark, Alysia Montano, Ajee Wilson or even Caster Semenya could have done what Athing just did. - It's kind of scary when you think about it. I would not be surprised if we hear the split was a mistake and it was more like 52:03, which is still impressive.
They seem to be standing by the 50.03, which is what I saw from the clock on the video.

Whittaker will be an also-ran in the long run. Why am I even bringing her up in a Mu thread? Boy am I silly!
