On whether athletes will be vaccinated for the Olympics, BOA head Sir Hugh Robertson said: "It wouldn't be appropriate to ask athletes to be fast-tracked. The BOA doesn't want to queue jump, but this will look very different in the spring."
Do you agree?
We don't. We understand why he said that as he doesn't want PR flak but can he please stop posturing and be realistic?
The reality is there are only like 11,000 summer Olympians. To fast track them so that billions across the globe can be entertained and be given something to enjoy during a hellish time is far from crazy - it's rationale. Plus given Japan a return on the $15 billion they have spent on this also make sense.
Currently 2.76 million vaccines are given out every day according to Bloomberg. Taking 0.4% percent of a single days worth vaccines - and by July the volume will be MUCH greater - so the world can come together is a good use of resources in our opinion, particularly when it's been revealed that thousands of have been tossed in the trash already.
