Jesus H Christ Rojo do you have any sort of morals or backbone! If anyone deserves a pardon it's someone like Ulbricht. If you stand for anything, you should stand with Ross. Snowden's pardon will be a commendation of his service to the government - he was the one who ultimately got everyone to accept that we'll be surveilled, but that's okay because now we know about it.
Ross Ulbricht was entrapped by federal agents. They befriended him and coerced him into 'calling a hit' on someone and then staged a murder. It is even unclear if he was the primary owner of the DreadPirateRoberts handle at this time and statements of this nature were prohibited from the trial (and stricken from the record). Imagine if someone was under arrest for sending dangerous things in the mail, the police discover that multiple people live at this address, wouldn't it make sense for them to investigate all of them instead of just the homeowner? The homeowner has some skin in the game to make sure his house doesn't impounded or something by cops, the people who live there don't.
He was never tried for murder, yet this 'evidence' was introduced in the trial and factored into the judges sentencing decision. It is a gross abuse of power by the police and the government. Several officers involved in the case have already faced charges of misconduct regarding the case - this alone should be reason for a retrial, something that no judge has granted Ross.
At a most basic level, there are rules for how someone should be tried for a crime and these rules were clearly not followed for Ulbricht. Ulbricht's imprisonment is a show of power by the government (headed by Chuck Schumer, ofc), nothing more - they don't have to play by the rules, they don't have to play the game, they don't even have to play a game.
Yes, Ulbricht did break the law and he should face some consequences for that but a life sentence +40 years is ridiculous. Can you at least agree on that? A life sentence +40 years - for someone who was not tried for a violent crime, someone who, to my knowledge, did not sell any drugs himself.
