Hi everyone. A very important question has been on my mind recently. My girlfriend would like very much for me to move with her to Dallas, TX. Now I've heard some things about the running scene in Dallas and I'm extremely skeptical of such a move. I am asking others on this board to help me out and tell me about Dallas and whats its like to run out there. All I'm really looking for are some trails and a soft track open to the public. Comments and input would be greatly appreciated.

Dallas is pretty decent for running. There are a lot of groups to hook up for runs with. Two good running stores that have weekly runs. (Lukes and Run on) You have White Rock Lake that is 15k around. It's cement trails, but you can run to the side on most of it where it's dirt. There are many tracks you can workout at. SMU, Jesuit,and Germany park to name a few. I've been in the Dallas area all my life and love it. Lots of races every weekend just about hat vary in competition. There are place within 30-45 minutes away that you can drive to for long runs that are on trails. Lake Grapevine is about 9 miles one way on trails, and Erwin park in McKinney, TX is an 8 mile loop that is all on trails. Don't let the running part stop you from moving with your girlfriend dude. Don't forget that there are alot of Open track meets during the spring, SMU, UTA (2 or 3), North Texas (1 or 2). You could put together a pretty good track season based on those meets alone.
