You are correct. Cheapskates want track to be cheaper and cheaper while the other sports become more and more expensive.

Yes you are. I purchased USATF.tv a few weeks ago to watch the track meet. I also subscribe to Fotrack and NBC Sports Gold Track Package. If you want to further the sport, you have to pay.

I feel your pain on the nbc gold pass this year. Not sure I want to spend all day avoiding spoilers in order to watch a 1.5 hour recap of a 2+ hour race. I'm thinking about just following the race via live tracking and watching the split times. That pretty much tells me 90% of what I'm interested in.

I’m a little concerned with the timing and race management company that was selected. I don’t know much about the group. Based in Missouri? Have they done many high profile events? I know the Marathon inChandler is a small sample, but the live results reporting could get buggy? Lots of overlapping splits and timing mats? Why didn’t they use the group that did the Trials?

People who won’t support the sport financially and then complain about distance runnings place in the world. SMH. Pay the 12 bucks!!

Just note that we can watch nearly every major pro cycling race on NBCSN with excellent announcers for free, not to mention other streaming options. Running needs big sponsors, something that it will probably never acquire.

Anyone know whether there will be an international stream? We can’t just get the nbc version because it’s limited to the US even if I wanted to pay for it.

You can watch true athletes in the NBA play multiple different games a day with a basic cable package.

Brooks should cover the costs of the coverage. I am buying there shoes for a good 30 years. It's about time they are doing something for me.

When a sport is very niche you can’t ask people to pay to view it and expect it to grow. You have to provide it for free and actually be GOOD coverage. Once that has been established you have to find ways to build and grow a reoccurring audience.

Then and ONLY then after that you can reach out to brands for advertising opportunities. Therefore then the sport/athletes make money and the friendly viewer gets free entertainment.

Not rocket science as every other sport is killing it.

Going to be and uphill battle for a long time with a sport like running though.

Who is "you"? I am not providing it. I am guessing that you want your student loans forgive also. Maybe you should make a large donation to the sport so that it can be provided for free to everyone so that the sport can grow.

I just decided that I will watch the Taipei Marathon from yesterday.

Why did you even click on it this morning??? Go for a run. Relax a bit. You don't have to pay or watch if you don't want to.
