I think it could be more ineresting than some people believe.
This guy is 25, the prime age and appears to be in prime shape.
Mayweather is 44, has been out of competitive boxing for a few years.
Now he does stunts. Or is he still a professional boxer? I don't know the answer.
I thought he retired, but apparently not.
Young hungry guy vs experienced fighter well into his 40's. Older guy is outweighed by a fair margin.
Younger guy could surprise him. That's my worry for the older guy.
Oh come on, man. The YouTuber is the equivalent of a 5 minute miler, and that's generous. He is young, probably better than the average young guy off the street, and has probably been training for a year or so, but that's all.
Mayweather is one of the very best ever, and has held up well with age. He's 44 - that's not ancient, and he's not been away from boxing long enough for his skills to degrade MASSIVELY. Not even the weight is that relevant - Mayweather's been fighting heavier men for his whole career, and weight matters much less in boxing than in wrestling or MMA.
This is the equivalent of getting a 5:00 mile guy and racing him against a 44 year old El Gerrouj. In fact, it's probably even more of a mismatch because technique is so much more important.
Let's take it a step further: could a young guy who has a tiny bit of talent for snooker beat a 60-year old Ronnie O'Sullivan? Could a new guy who has supporting roles in local amateur musical theatre out-sing Tom Jones, even though Tom is 80? Even in sports, would a random guy off the street who dabbled in skateboarding for a year do better than Tony Hawk now? This is the type of gap in technique we're talking about.
There's levels to this, man. I assume you're a runner? Well, you know that feeling when you're training really hard in the same group as someone who you just know you'll never get anywhere near? Take that, then take the guy who THAT guy knows he will never get close to the level of. Do this like 100 more times, take THAT guy, and compare him to yourself. Now you're getting close to Mayweather vs Paul.
The gap is probably the biggest mismatch in sporting history, discounting Jesse Owens and a horse. Mayweather will not finish it early because he wants to give the fans a show/keep the gravy train alive, but if he was offered another £500m to finish the fight as fast as he could? It's done in less than 10 seconds, and I'm not exaggerating. Immediate KO.
