Rounding out my top 20 is Ababel Yeshaneh, third in New York last year in 2.22.52. PB of 2.20.51 when chasing Brigid in Chicago in 2019 when the WR was broken. Was at halfway that day in 68.22, already 1.23 behind
While we have a break in the road running schedule until Worlds, a little adjustment to my ten: Salpeter and Hiwot replaced in it by Yeshaneh and Gotytom

Salpeter ends up having a better year than Yeshaneh, unless Ababel is uninjured and planning a December marathon?

Could be time to reboot this. My year end women's ten were:
Doing the preliminary research: aaargh, this is so hard. 14 don’t fit into a top ten. First three in London last year were ranked by me 9,8, and 10 while the next 3 that day were my 4,5,and 6 in the World. Do you swap them as a group? I could be here all night then Boston could rearrange it all again
I was right with one thing: Boston results do change things. Chebet over Lawrence for 2nd and Lemma back down to low in the top ten?
Top ten men at year end (only 2022 results) were:
Kipchoge
E.Chebet
A.Kipruto
B.Abdi
Geremew
T.Tola
B.Kipruto
Leul G.
K.Kiptum
and Geay
Tokyo medalists don’t change this but are now among my 11-20

Ruth C

Assefa
Gotytom
Kosgei
Jeptum
Peres
Ayana
Joyciline
and Beriso
Now to decide who from Tokyo joins them?
Rosemary Wanjiru temporarily displaces Beriso until Boston. Beriso gets her chance to replace either Joyciline or Gotytom if she finishes before either or both.

With Boston done and dusted, a different ten rise:
Ruth C., Yehualaw, Kosgei, Peres, Assefa, Beriso, Obiri, Salpeter, Wanjiru, and Jeptum. Four of them this Sunday in London mixing it with Hassan, Sheila, Ayana, McColgan, Tadu Teshome, and Genzebe Dibaba. Any of these nine with a podium could push into my ten.

New WR holder now roars to the top, Sheila adds to her resume. When will Megertu run again?

Changing this with current year results to:
Kipchoge
Kiptum
Chebet
Adbi
Geay
B.kipruto
Tola
S.tura
Leul
and Kamworor
unlucky is A.kipruto, gave london everything he had
Worlds winner on the cusp of these, Kipchoge still 1, and debuts for second and third in Berlin put them in the wider conversation after their next result
