Other Ivy League schools are rejoicing this hire....because it's clear that Dartmouth will now be a perennial BOTTOM FEEDER in cross country.
WTF type of title is this???? Marjorie & Herbert Chase ’30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country Porscha Dobson

Is he coaching the throws as well? Odd combo. XC and throws!
Justin and I were classmates together in the graduate program at SCSU. Good guy. He knows how to deal with personalities and is/was a talented runner himself.
sort of cool that a guy without bigtime credentials can make his way to lead a good program at a young age.
It means the position is not a budget item. His salary comes from an endowment and is not susceptible to getting the axe.
Defiantly a little head scratching done after this hire. Heard Jordan Carpenter was in the running and has much better credentials at the D3 level than Justin (He coached the National Champs team at Pomona) and is just as young. Also comes from a high level liberal arts school not too different than Dartmouth.
Not sure how the decision for Justin over Jordan was made but hoping this is a Danny Ange situation when he drafted Jason Tatum over Fultz and Ball. If Justin can manage personalities and heads well - he will be a great coach but alumni will likely keep him on a short leash considering his lack of credentials and the storied history of the program.
Um, there is a Jersey connection here, the good ole boy network at work here.
He's no rojo, but at least Dartmouth can say they are bringing the wood for the next season.
They hired a MEN'S coach whose primary coaching accomplishments have been with WOMEN (in particular one female athlete).
Great job, Dartmouth.
They just cloned Dartmouth legend Sam Wilbur and told him to coach!

He did a really good job when he was coaching the guys at Delhi.
Barry Harwick came from coaching D2 Bentley before he replaced Vin Lannana at DC. Might have helped that he was a Big Green alumnus, 1977.
Was excited with the direction he was taking the team at La Verne. Definitely sad to see him go. Good luck Coach Wood!
New HC makes a non-threatening hire.
A yes man who want overshadow her.
