Which one,if either, would you wear in a steeplechase? I noticed that both were much lighter that the adidas adistar and I was wondering if anyone had worn these in a steeple. The spike pattern on the Kennedy's looks questionable for a steeple.

Neither. The kennedys are not meat to run the steeple, you put those close proximity spikes on the inside of your foot on a barrier, and you will have a good chance at taking a swim.
THe ventulus plus can be used, as they are mesh, the regular ventulus is not perforated and doesn;t drain as well. Personally the 4 spike configuration has the back two spikes at a place that is not ideal for putting a foot on the barrier. The spkes can also dull quickly and not bite and I find that having sharp spikes really makes a difference for me.
I have not tried the cyberperfomace shoe from ascis, it looks to be close to what the adistar is. Nike simply made the ventulus plus to market to people looking for a diferent upper on the ventulus and to replace the zoom steeple which they mysteriously stopped making.
Adistar steeple's are the best thing out there for the steeple chase. THe original ones had a real grippy type of eva compound on the outsole, best shoes I ever had good luck finding those however. Stick with shoes meant for barrier traction, and that drain water. The kennedys are going to weigh the same wet as the adistars will weigh when wet, because the adistar's upper does not absorb water.
PLus they come in orange...and...orange...DAMMIT ADIDAS MAKE MORE THAN ONE COLOR!!!!
Thanks Chucko.....I will probably go with the adistar....I have a pair of old ones (definately the best I've had for any race)...but they're pretty tore up and I will just order the newer version, which I don't like as much, but then again, I haven't worked out in them.
I've got the Asics Cyberperfomace, and they're working really well. They seemed like they would be heavy, because they don't have the really thin upper that the Adistar's have on them. I've ran a race and a few workouts in them and they drained the water really well. The orange and silver is cool too.
Wasn't a result of shoes . . but I like to share these pictures with fellow steeplechasers.
dude, quit posting the link to those pictures. and also, dont even try to call yourself a steepler. youre one of those kids who probably just gets put in there by their coach because they dont have a shot at scoring points anywhere else.
I have been steepling in the Ventulus plus this season...I ran in last years Adistars last season...the adistars have a problem of the insole coming out, which is quite annoying...the vents works pretty well, they absorb a little water, but not much...the traction on the barrier is plenty good, the only set back is the lack of cushioning in the forefoot. The adistars have a nice pad of Adiprene up there. the vents have basically nothing. It can hurt sometimes landing in the water, but for the most part you'll survive, and the comfort of the Vents is definetely better overall the the Adistars
chucko was right.
ADISTAR ROXXXX. I use them for my PRs.
If you have a small enough foot, you can get a pair of the women's nike zoom w.
It has a flexible spike plate and will really work well. More and more steeplers are doing this.
You may want to consider finding the older version b/c the new one has a pink swoosh, but that can be fixed with a marker :)
