One has doubts it’s the same Kiprop who was a runner as there are many homonyms in Kenya. If it is him, kudos to him for coming back into athletics. He has paid dearly for his transgression if committed which has never been proved unilaterally.

Cups of tea and EPO not withstanding, Asbel was my favorite runner to watch by the proverbial mile. So spectacular the way he raced starting right at the back of the field and moving that majestic frame of his through the field with ease.
He is missed by everyone. 1500 m run will never be the same since he departed from the scene. Tragic. And if he did take any illicit substances, the tragedy is that this was absolutely unnecessary based on his extraordinary talent.
Hopefully the pencil thin, elegant, always snappily dressed Eldoret policeman will be given a second chance to show his true talent. He paid dearly for his transgression if that was the case. If you watch his interviews with regard to the case, his sincerity and frankness come through and indicate his basic lack of guilt in the case. Tragic.
