Making my track 10k debut...any suggestions for what I should put on my feet? I have a pair of zoom distance's that I wore for most of my 3k's indoors. Will these be fine for 10k? Or should I go pick up a pair of flats or something? Thanks

Be tough........barefeet.
I've run a few 10k's with the zoom distances and they've felt great during the race. The day after is a different story. But they are still good shoes for the 10k.I would say get flats only if you are concerned about aggravating a lower leg injury.Good luck.
The more cushioning the better. I think that the Kennedys do well, but that's my own opinion. Just wear the zoom distances...and if they hurt your feet or anything like, then you know they don't work well for ya. It's a trial and error thing.
I am decent at the 10k and I always wear flats. Alot easier on your knees around the turns because your shoes pivot and not you knees. Remember it is no all about the weight but a good mechanically efficient shoes. And yes you can kick just as well in flats.
I'll bet I hold the record for most track 10ks run as a collegian. It's at least 18 that I can think of.
depends on how fast you are running...sub 32:00, wear spikes...over 32:00 wear flats...
I've also been wondering what to wear as I will be running a 10k at Stanford this friday. I've always worn flats in the past but I think that spikes will always knock some time off your performance if your prepared to be a bit sore in the calfs the next day. Personally i'm going for the Kennedy's this time around. It does depend on how you run though. Why not take a couple of different pairs and see how they feel the day before?
anyone ever run the 10k in Jasari's...i have run some 5s in them and am giving the 10 a shot on friday, just wondering what anyone else has expierenced, thanks
I have run a 10k in the Jasari. The problem is with that piece of plastic that is on the inside of the left foot, it wears on your foot. And outside of right foot. At least it did on mine. I finished bloodied on both feet to say the least.
I wore Streak Vapor 4's (grey ones) last year at Stanford and they are the best.
The El Doret will make your calves sore, but they are a great shoe.
White Kennedys have great padding, Yellow aren't as great.
Don't know about Black or Blue ones.
VENTULUS!!!!!!!
If it is your first 10k I would go with FLATS..
