I asked out a really cool girl earlier this week and she said yes and we made plans to get lunch tomorrow. I've been super excited about it all week. I didn't think I had any chance when I asked her out and I literally couldn't believe that I'd scored a date with such an awesome and cute girl.
Today I texted her to set a specific time and place for the date and she responded with "hey dude, I've had a pretty exhausting week and I think I'm actually just gonna stay in tomorrow." In the two seconds it took to read that text I went from the happiest I've ever been to absolutely devastated.
I guess my point is to hold off on getting excited until you're actually there with her. In my experience letting yourself get to the point where you "can't contain your excitement" just means that the woman is going to absolutely crush you.
Agreed. You don't have a date until you're actually on the date. Sometimes they say yes because they don't have the guts to reject you to your face. Always have a backup plan and don't rearrange your whole schedule for her. There's a 50% chance she stands you up, and that's if you're good looking and charming. If you're ugly and awkward like most of us it could be as high as 90-95%.
