You dude, I am not asking for random facts from 100 years ago. I am asking you, who is offended by this name NOW!?
Who, not some wiki crap.
Oneida Indian Nation are offended by it.
"In 2013, the OIN renewed a campaign to compel the Washington Redskins to change their team name and mascot. The OIN leader Halbritter launched the website "Change the Mascot." In 2014-2015 there was new publicity related to this national campaign, with other Native American tribes participating."
So there you go a tribe of Native American Indians are offended by it.
That answers your question.
What's your next point?
Awww, thank you!! Yes, finally someone freaking answers that only question that matters in this subject.
But from what i know, 90% of American Indians done by a Washington Post pole, the most liberal paper on freaking earth, said they were NOOOOT offended.
Only you virtue signaling crapshoots care about this crap. As the Indians dont care about it the same way the Irish done care about a freaking leprechaun as a mascot.
In a poll conducted recently by the WashingtonPost, nine out of 10 Native Americans said they were not offended by the Redskins’ nickname.
Seven out of 10 respondents said they didn’t feel the word Redskin is disrespectful to Native Americans, and eight out of 10 said they would not be offended if a non-Native American person called them a Redskin.
The poll surveyed 504 people from every state and Washington, D.C. Of those surveyed, 44% said they were current members of a Native American tribe and 51% said they were pro football fans. The results of the poll “were broadly consistent regardless of age, income, education, political party or proximity to reservations,” the Postwrote.
In a 2014 poll by SI.com, 25% of NFL fans said Washington should change its nickname and 79% said they did not find the nickname offensive.
