Also added #6. This was mentioned on page 56 of this thread. It was quoted from the RWOL thread, where a runner in that race had noticed Kip wasn't in the pictures and contacted the race director. "Race director corrected it and took Mr. Kipling out of the final results". (reference page 56, 1/18/11, 10:34am, and 1/18/11, 10:48am)

Also, be sure not to forget #7 - the Free Press Marathon Relay. That is one many from Michigan are familiar with.

I have spoken to the Delaware Marathon RD just last night. He does post on this forum, he actually referred to this forum in the phone call.

I'm not sure what the best way to orchestrate a case before the BAA. From reading a few earlier posts, it appears some attempts have already been made. I've trashed Litton pretty good for his cheating at the 2010 BAA 5K, and while the BAA has probably heard all about Litton by now, I'm not sure how much they really care. After all, at the end of the day, they may just say he's only a hobbyjogger.

Hopefully you guys can figure out the best approach here.

You might have a point, something else I had thought of is asking the writer of the article to approach the BAA. If we are lucky if this article does come out in print one of the major news networks picks it up. I plan on calling the magazine on Monday and seeing if I can speak to the so called writer of the article since I have a name.

It's been picked up by a major magazine....just not sure how much longer it's going to be before we all see it

Not annoyed at all. I have spent a lot of time building inroads with a person who is very close to Kip. I can't be more specific or I might blow it. I hope it will lead to much better info than just what races he is doing.

It's a big magazine. Not allowed to say anything more. Ouch1000 (who's one of the original KL investigators) said on page 90 of this thread that in 2009 of this magazine was >1million in circulation. unfortunately you guys are going to have to wait still, but when it finally comes out it will be very much worth it.

This thread is very interesting, from a number of sociological and psychological perspectives.

Being an attorney, and also a scientist (mech. eng. and environmental science, was involved in biomedical research for years), I would caution non-attorneys, especially Ouch1000, to not try to reach their own conclusions concerning matters of law without the benefit of legal counsel. Despite possible popular image to the contrary, our legal system is not the systematic, methodical, rational, and compartmentalized exercise that is "science". It took me years to understand and finally accept this. Trust me, you will get burned by trying to apply a scientific paradigm to "legal" issues.

That aside, one more thing that strikes me as odd is that nobody in the letsrun.com community has been able to personally track Kip Litton in the past, and that nobody is stepping up to do anything of the sort in any upcoming race. With all of the solidarity expressed here, I would think, as an unbiased observer, that you guys would organize some sort of continual and verifiable shadowing of this Litton character. You guys really seem to be taking this to heart, but don't seem to be doing anything direct about it.

I understand that if entered in one of these events, your prime goal would probably be to run the best race you could...but what about sacrifice in the name of the greater good of the letsrun community, and of the running community in general, and running with Litton throughout an entire race?
