Potentially Suspicious Runner To Run 836 Miles in 9 Days for "Charity"

I've been thinking. With both Terrie and Dave claiming to Neil and in all sorts of places that Dave finished the London Marathon in 3:12, I don't think Terrie could have been THAT dumb to claim that time if the London Marathon had initially given Dave a 4:19. What I've deduced to most likely have occurred is that Dave and Terrie intentionally broke the timing chip so they could lie to London Marathon that Dave finished in 3:12 in order to collect the £5000 charity money from their sponsor for their own pockets.

Now, for the next few months they think they got away with the cheating and spreading that 3:12 number around which is what was likely showing on the London Marathon results page. But, as we learned from Scott Overall's email, they had to review Dave's results at least twice at different times. And during this second review is when they realized that the 3:12 is an impossibility and reviewed the photos they now have that they didn't on race day and changed Dave's time to 4:19 (which Dave got by cutting the course).

This is all my deduction which we will have to see if I am correct later on after I finish processing the London Marathon photos.

So she's found a photo from mile 9, how did he get to mile 9, and how did he get to the last mile (where all the other photos are) after mile 9.

Come on Terrie, you can give us all the other evidence you have rather than a couple of photos from one point in the marathon.

Timing chip did not work, had confirmation from London Marathon back in May 2016 that the chip did work. Sent London Marathon all evidence required to prove that Dave run it ALL. They confirmed that start and finish Times were in put manually as chip did NOT work. Also provided them with GPS watch data which has been checked. Oh and one last thing I found photos of Dave and London Marathon have confirmed the photos were at MILE 9!!! These photo'a were not on Dave's photo profile for some reason but I guess every one makes mistakes a? Which meant that I spent hours and hours looking at thousands of photo's to find these beauties below. So when are you going to apologise?

Hi Terrie, Indeed a timeing chip not functioning is unfortunate. Could certainly cause confusion. However equally it's all about context isn't it? For example Every other post on the intial Lejog page of Dave's talked of breaking the record. Then apparently he never mentioned it according to his more recent posts. ..... and well all this did was fuel all fires for more proof than a photo or you or Dave saying someone else said that "

Officially" he had integrity. .......... So respectfully : your on the back foot immediately when replying to questions and that may well feel unfair. That would be a human reaction after all. However just saying " they accepted it as we are saying" is somewhat different from providing any proof that they did so. And of course you never expected to have to do this, but then I don't think anyone on this group who followed the Vaz or Rob Young debarcal ever really expected to see someone promoting their soon to be " record breaking" lejog and not welcoming questions about it from genuinely interested people. Also then Blocking people from asking these questions also played rather badly against you credibility didn't it? Anyway, have a great year and I hope things go well for you on the new project. I just hope you can see that dismissing any questions without any third party proof of things playing out the way you describe and blocking interested parties off your official site will cause you more than a few headaches .all the best smile emoticon:)

Terrie, you ask when people will apologise, how about Dave starts, by apologising for lying to double amputee Duncan Slater, his coach, the RAF Association, sponsors, followers etc about his London time. If a man can look Dave Slater in the eye and dismissively say he trained well and ran 3:12 when even the dubious manual input says 4:19 I don't think anything he says should be accepted without substantial evidence. All you do in response to this problem is ignore and block, then call people trolls.

No, I was the one many months ago who looked up his finish photos, and checked the times of the runners around him. I have consistently asked this question, and continually, as now you ignore it. Dave claimed to many people including Duncan Slater in that video that he ran 3:12. As I say if you can casually lie to the face of a double amputee attempting (and he completed his challenge) the Marathon Des Sables, then I think absolutely any claim you make should be backed by massive evidence. So, are you going to continue to attack me, or will you address Dave being a proven liar?

Hi All, we are back and ready to go. We just want to say a massive thank you again to all those that supported us and sponsored us back in April 2017 and we are truly sorry and saddened for how it turned out. However we have not been hiding we have merely been gathering our evidence and ticking boxes. The Team at London Marathon have been amazing and we now have all confirmation and evidence that we need, SO if any one wants to see Dave's evidence we ask please come and have a cup of tea with us and we will gladly provide you with all of our evidence for every thing you have queries over. Dave is back in training and has been for a while now, he has some challenges ahead. We the team are looking forward to going back and finishing a journey that we started (being the other way round is here nor there). We have lost a team member but have also gained a new member who is more than up to the task ahead. We again thank you all and hope you will continue to support us along the way. This journey will be to raise awareness to Online/Social Media bullying which has consumed our lives over the past couple of months, my family, and team and more so Dave have been through what I can only describe as hell (sorry), but we have now come through it and only happy times are ahead.

I have also been blocked from the page as of last night for asking if he will be training properly for this event as I was dissapointed with how the last attempt was handled and the fact that we had been lied to over several claims about training and ability. As Mick Kennish-Ward says saying something is true is not providing proof. If London marathon have confirmed he ran all of it and it was a timing chip error then please feel free to post a copy of that confirmation then I will belive it.

If Dave had done the training he claimed to have done beforehand such as the 40 miles a day for 10 days I would have expected his feet to survive a little longer than two days.

If it had been meticulously planned why did you not know about the roadworks and alternative cycle /footway provided for the last almost 2 years etc.

As said on the page before blocked, if he does it right he will get the support of people in this community in a massive way. However if you try to bluff or fake something like this or don't take it seriously then this community will be upset.

Okay I am not going to keep doing individual replies. Dave is to busy to deal with this rubbish and he doesn't have to because he has me for that. Firstly Sponsors I personally obtained all sponsors not Dave, I did not once mention to any sponsors Dave's previous Marathons, timings, or any thing, the only thing I said was that he was in serious training which he was, we got sponsors because it was for charity plain and simple. Seal Skinz had nothing to do with LEJOG. There were no posh hotels being paid for by any one. And we paid for a lot of things ourselves. We did not and never intended to make any money. You have made many assumptions that are simply that assumptions. I have personally been slated and name called for no apparent reason by persons that do not even know me. Our evidence is here for any one official that asks for it. I am the one that spent hours days looking through thousands of photos to find Dave at mile 9, but of course he must have cut the course some where else, where no one saw him in a place where thousands of runners are and members of the public, Dave has run several marathons as you know and NEVER cheated so why would he decide to cheat this one? You are a minority of people on a page with thousands of members. I am not going to fill this page with any more of this rubbish. You accused Dave of paying some one to run one of his races and then admitted you got it wrong on the Letsrun forum. (No apology of course). I will not upload emails and blot out things simply because I have learnt that you will simply just say "it's been edited" or whatever. You have already said Dave faked his watch data from London 2016 without even seeing it. So you see what ever we give you will never be good enough and so we won't be giving it to you. I am sure you will receive your own confirmation from London (again) which you can then put on Letsrun like you did with the email you already received from them. Any way I have nothing more to say, and wish to leave this lovely community to get on with their lives and running. Thank you to all those on here that have supported us, you know who you are even though you have not commented. Dave did not cheat and we can prove it so do what you want. No money was stolen from any charity and we can prove it so do what you want. Thank you.

Also yes you made many claims about his mileage and training including this article in the press that would make people believe that he was doing the right training. If you tell the truth you only have to remember the truth not which lie you are telling and who to. Because you will get caught out.

So Terrie, any explanation for the now vanished 3:43 2016 Bournemouth Marathon result for Dave?

We did note many pages ago due to its layout just how easy it would be to cut the course.

The bit I don't get is how in that video he can stand in front of a double amputee and audience and blatantly lie about running a 3:12 marathon, what sort of person does that?

Based on the preponderance of evidence submitted by an LRC poster, Marathonguide.com have now officially removed Dave Reading from the London 2016 results.

He is still listed in the London 2015 results.
