RE: Cheating at Marathons

The thread will die if PM lets it die, which seems doubtful. The thread would have died quickly, but she had to pull her antics in a big name race like Badwater. Because she's not been officially DQ'ed, there's a good chance she won't learn a thing and will attempt to cut some other course where the participants and maybe even the RD actually care. And when she does the glory of this thread will be resurrected! Ok glory is pretty strong. I really don't care that much, but I run only in Swiftwick socks. I just can't bring myself to buy anymore until they cut ties with her. I stopped using Honey Stingers due to Lance, a couple years before he confessed.

What's she been up to since the 5 days x 5 marathons thingy, anything last weekend?

I agree, I think you're all a pack of rat bags who should be extolling her virtues.

She came to the good old US of A to make a life the American way and she's done that, i.e. make a dollar and an honest living, Lance Armstrong, Jim and Tammi Baker, Charles Ponzi, Bernie Madoff, Gordon Gecko, etc would be proud of her.

Parvaneh Moayedi's sponsors and the people who pay to enter her events (nearly called them races) agree too, otherwise why would they part with their hard earned.

I think it is apparent that she does all this walking and without any real training or diet effort, but her raw ability is obvious.

If she were to actually train and diet with a 5 year training plan what could she run for a marathon?

I would say she should be able to cut her time in half so if I go with 5:15:00 as her base time then I say she could run 2:37:30 or better.

This makes me wonder if she had trained when she was young say 27, then what could she have run, I would guess that she would have been sub 2;30:00.

Again, or better.

The saddest part of this story is that she could have been one of the great elites.

Has anyone noticed if any sponsors have dropped from her website? the Buffet probably doesn't care, but some of the others might.

This Ms. may not be able to go sub-2 in her career, but I believe she can WIN Barfwater. With the proper positioning of vehicles and decoys, it can be done. The new and improved course features many more rock outcroppings early and blind turns, as well as mountain scrubbery not found in Death Valley proper, to make a break possible. On the old course one had to go 17 miles before one could head to hotel room to wait out the starting waves and stealthily be taxied forward ... ice cream bar in hand, laying in the back of an un-marked refrigerated truck. The record is only limited by the local speed limits and traffic.

When the prize is the most coveted awards in sport - the belt buckle, medal, the organic t as well as the world-famous post-race pizza party - and driven by the new and improved 2015 entry rumoured to be $2995, 2015 will be a no-holds barred, recognized "Around the World,' Battle of the Chump-ions.
