NXN 2023 Way too early preview: Dawn of a new Era

Well it's a good thing that we have nxn to sort it all out. We can compare how different regions stack up.

Why are some teams listed as their school name and others are listed as a city? Example- Clovis is Buchanan and Denver is Mountain Vista.

It’s crazy that teams like Orem aren’t eligible for NXN, but are only eligible to watch NY autoqualifying teams with a 16:50 average compete at NXN

NY teams are not good this year. That’s established. They would’ve been barely top 5 in the NE if that. But using 5man averages on wildly different courses across the country is simply the worst reasoning to use to complain about teams not making it to nxn.

For NXN, there’s probably some rule against using a school name as it’s club name, unless the school is named after the city is in.
Mountain Vista is located in Highlands Ranch, not Denver. But there is also a school in Colorado named “Highlands ranch”.

If Mountain Vista uses “Highlands Ranch” as its club name, what if Highlands Ranch HS qualifies for NXN at some point? (Not saying they are good enough now)

wasn’t dakota ridge listed as denver, and valor christian girls were listed as highlands ranch? In not really sure how they decide team names

In 2017 / 2018, Bolles HS’s club name was “Duval XC”, although the city of the school is Jacksonville.

I really don’t have a clear understanding on the rules for picking the club name

I heard that they can’t use their school name as a club name.

But some club names are the same as school names, but those schools have the same name as the city they are in

Seems like they are better at every position this year than last year. And they took 7th at NXN last year.

They could be top 5 this year.

Westfield was close to CBA at NXR. This doesn’t look good for CBA’s chances of winning NXN

Their low stick had a bad day. NJ MOC winner. Probably would've been top 3 on a normal day. He'll be near the front at NXN

He didn't have a bad day, he went out with Grievous for the first half of the race, then fell back when he realized he couldn't hang. Still came in the top 10, 2nd on his team which won handedly.

There have been aweful takes all season long labeled as “facts.” I just hope that people can accept the results at nxn for what they are.

It's not their fault they got picked. They didn't snub Oakdale. Don't blame the kids.

True. And who knows if there will be NXN a year later? In 2020 there surely wasn’t. So many good programs who never qualified for it before could have qualified (like Bellarmine CA and Skyridge UT) and missed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that year and will probably never make it.

And people were all hype about the Ventura boys team this year who lost almost no one, and this year they actually did worse than last year

For the Niwot boys team this will be a good experience for future years when they try to win NXN
