Just pointing out that Semenya's run in lane 2 1/2 gave her 1526m or so, which equates to 1500 in 3:58.9.
I went back and re-watched the last lap. I think what I though twas the 200 mark was the steeple start. I think it was more like 29.5 - 28.4 for the final 400 for Kipyegon. Anyone else time it?

Because she used a lot more energy than the others. Lack of drafting, stumble and slowing down having to accelerate to get back into contention.
It's equally as sad too... Both were having amazing years and made the race interesting, but paid the price.

No, it was a terrible tactic and cost her any chance of running her best.

because nothing during qualifying rounds made her look like she could beat the rest of the field, or be a favorite.

Only reason I was also rooting for that man to win was if Caster won double gold then maybe....maybe IAAF would wake up and do something to stop it. With a bronze in 15 and a gold in the 800, Caster will continue to lay low and do her thing as usual. Not enough people will care. But double gold would have promoted a more thorough examination from IIAF. This sucks.

Have you not been following? IAAF implemented testosterone limits but it was taken out of their hands by the CAS.
